The one where I try statement nails

One of life’s small luxuries for me is getting my nails done. Everything seems better with a nice, new, shiny set of shellaced nails (remember when I discovered Shellac? It changed my life! Read about it here, and here). I seem to walk taller, dress better and talk with my hands more (if that is even possible…) when I have nice, new nails.

Scrolling through Pinterest, which I do ~~all the time~~, almost never, I’ve noticed recently that there is quite a few people out there getting creative with their nails, here are a few of my favourite examples….

My winter wardrobe wishlist

So not sure if I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s a little cold here in New Zealand (oh I have? My bad!). And I’m sure I HAVE mentioned before that the weather in New Zealand has negated about 80% of my wardrobe as inappropriate! (I’ve come from Queensland! My whole wardrobe consists of silk maxi dresses).

Before I moved to NZ, I wrote a blog about what I THOUGHT my winter wardrobe would look like in NZ (click here to read it). What is that saying? “if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans” well if you want to make the wardrobe gods laugh, tell them what you THINK you are going to wear in a different climate!

How to hide a bad hair day this winter

The sun is shining, it’s nice and warm outside, you’re heading to the beach… you have your trusty summer hat with you! Easy! Ok, but right now it’s not so sunny (especially where I am!) and it’s DEFINITELY not warm outside, and I’m CERTAINLY not heading to the beach…. but I’m still rocking my hats!

On a freezing cold day in Auckland, what better way to keep my head warm than with a hat!

But where will I wear it?

Strangely, the question “but where will I wear it?” has NEVER crossed my mind (I just bought a pair of gold sequined harem pants for goodness sake – all I was thinking was “oooOOOooo”!).

: I can totally relate!

However, it is something that I hear many of my friends, family and personal styling clients say. You know the drill – you find an amazing silk maxi dress, in your size, on sale, 60% off….. but you still have to ask yourself…. “but where will I wear it?“

Labels I Love – Sacha Drake

So I thought I’d start a new series of posts called Labels I Love. I thought it would be a fun was to share with you all some of the awesome labels that I have found in my travels, and explain why they are so good! And what better label to start with than my all time fave…. Sacha Drake.

Now as many of you know, I have a very personal history with this label – it is the main reason my wardrobe is so full for a start!! I was also one of the first members of staff when Sacha started this label almost 10 years ago now! I’ve made no secret of my personal connection with Sacha Drake on the blog, and I’m proud to have such a close association with this amazing label.
