Chasing Cait’s top 3 online shopping sites

www.hidemycreditcardrightnow.com. Online shopping……. I love it because not only can I do it from the comfort of my couch, I can do it in my JAMMIES!!!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a fan of walking into a store, trying something on, handing my cash over and taking it home to introduce the rest of my clothes/shoes/hats/scarves to their newest friend but I think that online shopping is a great way to look at other options for your wardrobe, do your research, and find what you are after for a budget that suits you, all from the comfort of your own home!

So I thought I’d take some of the legwork (fingerwork?) out of finding the best online store and tell you all about my fave three!

How to do a five-minute face

Ok, if you are going to call me on it, it took 7 minutes, but hey, who is counting! So I’m not generally known as a morning person (understatement of the year! If you want something done before 10am – do not ask me).

I will do almost anything to get an extra 5 minutes shut-eye in the mornings! (bribery, tantrums and just plain ignoring the boy when he tells me to get up). This includes getting ready to leave the house at the speed of light if I need to!! Hence, me mastering The Five Minute Face!

Here is my first video-blog (I think the cool cats call the vlogs, but I have issues saying that with a straight face) – please don’t laugh at me putting my makeup on backwards (or at the bit where I get mascara all over my face)

I hope this helps you get the extra 5 minutes sleep in the morning too ;-)

Ok so here are the products and tools I used to help create my ‘face’ – these are just items I have in my make-up bag, I’m sure you have something similar in yours…..

A small selection of my daily ‘war paint’ haha

1 & 2. Napoleon blush & Manicure blush brush

3. Angled makeup brush (used for my eyebrows)

4 & 5. Stila 3-colour eye shadow (I use the mid-brown for my eyebrows) and eyebrow/eyelash brush and comb (use this to clean up your eyebrows before adding powder or gel)

6. Small angled make-up brush (I use this to apply black shadow to my lashline rather than using eyeliner)

7. Eye shadow brush (for eye shadow application over the whole eye lid)

8. Napoleon Perdis 4-pack of eye shadow (I use the top two colours, pink (lids) and cream (highlighting brow bone) less that the black and brown below – both great for lining my eyes along the lashline)

9. Napoleon Perdis eye shadow in taupe (this is a GREAT base colour when you don’t want to have to think too much or do much contouring or layering of colours)

10. M.A.C mascara – this stuff is amazing! SO black – layers up well

11 & 12. Large powder brush (great for a top coat of powder) and Napoleon Perdis ‘Camera Finish’ pressed powder (great for taking the shine off your face)

13. Garnier BB Cream (saving the best for last! This stuff is gold! Moisturiser, concealer, suncreen and skin even-outter in one!)

And no, I’m NOT sponsored by Napoleon Perdis … I just happen to have quite a lot….. maybe I need to be….

Gumboots – practical or fashionable?

Or can they be both? I think so! Not only are gumboots practical for keeping your feet (and half your legs) dry on a rainy day, they can also make a great statement piece for what would probably be a drab, boring, wet-weather outfit. (Let’s face it, if you are anything like me, all you are thinking about when it’s cold and dark and wintery and you are getting dressed is “What is going to keep me the warmest and the least wet today!”).

Well a bright, fun, fashionable pair of gumboots can keep you warm and dry on a wet day, AND make you feel fabulous at the same time! You might have seen me rocking my bright pink gumboots in my 7-day shoe challenge (read the post here) and can I tell you, I have hardly taken them off since!

Day 7 of my 7-day shoe challenge I chose to wear my gumboots

Colour pop! Neon

If you were born in the late 70′s / early 80′s you will remember neon the first time around….. STOP! (collaborate and listen…. sorry, couldn’t help myself) Please don’t run screaming from your computer screen…. it’s ok! Neon is back in fashion.

No more scrunchies, or bike shorts attached to skirts (K. Smith you KNOW what I am talking about!), this time neon is making a statement mostly on our nails, our feet or around our wrists – but don’t let me stop you wearing it in full force if you are game!

As always, Pinterest is a constant source of fashion inspiration… thank you Pinterest

The seven day shoe challenge – Day 7 – the final day

I warned you yesterday this was coming…. it was raining today. I get excited when it rains now because I have the perfect shoes to wear IN the rain! Can you guess what they are yet?

Today was a little warmer than it has been over the last few days, so not as many layers were required (although I have to say I am developing a whole new-found respect for merino thermals….. thank you Kathmandu…. I may be broke now, but I am certainly much warmer).

Ok, let me give you a clue. My shoes for today are from Target (Target do the BEST shoes!). They are boots. They are raspberry-coloured….

Raspberry gumboots!!! I LOVE them!
