This post originally appeared on the Shore City blog but I totally thought it was worth sharing on Chasing Cait too!

If you’re a regular reader of my updates you’ll know that VALUE FOR MONEY is really important to me – and I think that everyone’s version of affordable is different (which is really important to be aware of as a stylist).

So in honour of your budget (whatever it is!), I have 3 shoe trends that you can either choose to invest in, or get for a steal, depending on what you want to do!

Spend vs Steal – The Lace-up Flat

SHOP THE LACE UP FLATS SHOE TREND

Left: Mi Piaci ‘Rodeo’ Flats $230

Right: Glassons Gladiator Ballet Flats $49.99

I LOVE this trend, it’s fun and pretty and adds a little something something to the usual ballet flat.

You can wear it with jeans, or with a skirt or dress… and don’t be scared of the ties around the ankles, they actually flatter your leg by drawing attention down that way (rather than up around our thighs…. see?).

Spend vs Steal – Low Block Heels

SHOP THE LOW BLOCK HEEL SHOE TREND

Left: Overland Merchant ‘Briony’ Heel $209.90

Right: Lipstick heel from Hannahs $99.95

These have to be some of the most foot-friendly heels out there and I’m so happy they are back in fashion!

They really are the go-to heel this Spring / Summer – they work with everything from your black work pants to that cute LBD (little black dress) you want to wear to the Christmas Party.

Spend vs Steal – The Espadrille

SHOP THE ESPADRILLE SHOE TREND

Left: Mi Piaci ‘Adele’ Espadrilles $230

Right: Country Road ‘Mia’ Suede Espadrilles $109.90

Arguably the shoe of the season, the espadrille comes in every colour, size and budget!

Great for throwing on with a light summer dress to add a little trend to it, but great paired back (as always) with your jeans and a tee for those casual summer afternoons.

Take your pick of colours, but the orange is nice and bright for Summer don’t you think?

So there you have it, three shoes, each with a Spend or a Steal price-tag.

You choose what you want to spend your hard-earned money on, but it’s always good to know you have options right?
