ok for those of your playing along at home – I must apologise, I missed a day (or 2) BUT I did wear different shoes if that helps!?! I had two ridiculously flat-out days and didn’t get a change to stop and take a quick snap of my shoes…… but for the record these were the two pairs I wore……
The shoes from the missing days… sorry about that!
Ok, day 4 of the challenge…. Have a few errands to do, so require some shoes I can actually walk in (you would be surprised how many of my shoes DON’T meet that criteria!). Plus it’s going to rain any second so they have to keep my feet dry.
I know I’ve already done an ankle boot but another colour counts as another shoe right?
Fashion is all about making statements.
It’s an awesome way to show a little (or a big) insight into your personality.
If you are feeling awesome, you wear bright colours, and fun clothes. If you are feeling not so awesome (which rarely happens right?) you might gravitate towards darker colours and more simple clothes.
What’s so fun about fashion, is that every now and then, you can LITERALLY wear your heart on your sleeve. I’m starting to see a few pieces around that can help you tell everyone else how you are feeling today! Here are a few of my faves….
Ok, so maybe not one of the ‘standard’ body shapes but dressing for a petite body has its own set of do’s and don’ts…. plus I promised my sister-in-law that I would write this for you, so Kirsty, this is for you
If you are tiny in stature, then most of the rules for your body shape still apply (click here to work out which shape you are) but there are few extra tips and tricks that can make you feel 10 feet tall! (sorry, couldn’t help myself).
So what does exactly does ‘petite’ mean? Well to me it usually it means you are slightly lacking in the height department (5ft 3… 5ft 4 sound familiar?) and usually you are a size 4, 6 or 8 – BUT you can be quite petite in stature and a slightly larger size too…. the same rules apply.
Here are some familiar faces you might recognize that fall into the petite category!
The Olsen twins, Kylie Minogue and Kourtney Kardashian are all petite beauties – but there are still curves involved!
Ok you sweet pears, it’s your turn! When I’m styling clients, I often find pear shapes the easiest shape to dress (controversial, I know…. but hear me out!) Pears best bits are easy to show off, and the bits maybe they don’t like are the easiest to hide in my humble opinion – but first, let’s talk about what makes you a pear and why.
Once again here is the MOST important thing to remember – this is not at all about your size, dressing for your shape is all about balancing the proportions of your body – no matter what size you are, you can still look amazing!
Okay you little rascals. it’s time to go back to basics. We are going to talk body shapes. In this series of posts, I’ll walk you through the different shapes; their attributes and how to know if you are that shape, and then the best styling tips for that shape.
So the first thing to note about body shapes is that it has NOTHING to do with size! You can be a size 8 hourglass, or you can be a size 18 hourglass – it’s all about your body’s PROPORTION.
