Some people like to follow the rules. And I’m normally one of those people! (I don’t even cross the road on the red man – wait until the green man! Safety comes first!) HOWEVER, I think there are a few occasions when you can break the rules.
Fashion, for me, is one of those places! The fashion world is full of rules! “Don’t wear horizontal stripes” “black is always the most flattering colour” “Always match your belt to your shoes” these are just a few of the things that are drummed into us (I’m not sure by whom? Our mothers? Or not. Clearly you haven’t met my mother..). BUT I think that if you know the rules well enough, you also can work out how to break them.
So, to help work out which ‘rules’ don’t really apply in fashion anymore, here are my top 4 fashion myths BUSTED!
Nerd alert! Nerd alert! For a Sagittarian, I’m surprisingly organised sometimes! And one of those cases pertains to my wardrobe. With the amount of clothes I have (and no, that’s not a brag, just a job hazard!) I need to be organised otherwise I would never get dressed in the morning!
One of the first things I tell ALL my personal styling clients is that they need to have an organised wardrobe! If you are a busy lady (which I’m sure all of you are…. and those who aren’t, can you share the secret with the rest of us?!!?) getting dressed every morning is just one of the 50 million things you have to do before heading to work, or study, or dealing with children.
Having a messy wardrobe means you have to REMEMBER all your clothes when working out what to wear! Even I can’t remember ALL my clothes!
I know, I know – New Year’s resolutions are fresh in your mind…. and if you are anything like me, will fade out very quickly! BUT if you do one new thing this year, think about booking a session with a personal stylist (…….anyone know any good ones? JOKES!)
Personal styling isn’t just for the rich and famous any more! Anyone can use a personal stylist and it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg either!
For me, personal styling is about education. I want to help you learn what clothes suit you, your lifestyle and your budget, but more importantly, I want to give you the tools to go out and find the right clothes for yourself in the future!
So to explain in more depth, here are 5 reasons why you need a personal stylist in 2013:
Did you know that it is ONLY FOUR DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS???? (I know, I haven’t finished my Christmas shopping either!) but enough about everyone else, what are YOU going to wear Christmas Day?
Do you dress up? Do you sit by the pool? Or do you just laze in bed half the day (clearly you don’t have kids, it’s Ok – either do I). Well no matter what your plans are, it’s a great excuse to dress up!
So here are a few ideas on what to wear no matter where you are!
Where to wear your summer wedges!
Summer is finally here!! Christmas parties, festivals and general summer time fun going on! The problem is, most of these summertime adventures involve us girls standing on our feet for hours on end!
Heels just won’t cut it on some occasions, enter – The Wedge.
I love a wedge (it doesn’t help I’m a hopeless klutz in heels). They are sexy and fun, yet slightly more stable and ankle-friendly than most heels out there!
The best part about wedges is they are appropriate for almost ALL occasions! So here are three different ways to wear wedges this summer.
