The quality is exquisite, the design is original yet classic and the fabrics will stand the test of time (a statement I can personally vouch for! I have Sacha Drake dresses in my own wardrobe that have lasted me almost 10 years now – and the still look as flattering and stunning as the day I bought them!). Priced from $200 – $600 NZD, this brand is an investment you have to make!

Over the past 6 months, so many of my personal styling clients have told me that there is a gap in the market! Here is NZ we are missing clothes for women in their 30′s and 40′s that still feel young and feminine, but aren’t just another chain store buy, or that fall apart after a few wears. What I Wore Today: prints charming

OK, so we know I’m obsessed with maxi dresses. And we know I’m obsessed with Australian fashion designer, Sacha Drake. So in this post I COMBINE THE TWO! GENIUS!

Had a little “do” to go to, but nothing too fancy was required in the dress-code so I went straight to my fail-safe outfit: Maxi and sandals. More specifically, a Sacha Drake maxi dress – one of my favourite things in the whole world!!

4 fashion myths BUSTED!!

Some people like to follow the rules. And I’m normally one of those people! (I don’t even cross the road on the red man – wait until the green man! Safety comes first!) HOWEVER, I think there are a few occasions when you can break the rules.

Fashion, for me, is one of those places! The fashion world is full of rules! “Don’t wear horizontal stripes” “black is always the most flattering colour” “Always match your belt to your shoes” these are just a few of the things that are drummed into us (I’m not sure by whom? Our mothers? Or not. Clearly you haven’t met my mother..). BUT I think that if you know the rules well enough, you also can work out how to break them.

So, to help work out which ‘rules’ don’t really apply in fashion anymore, here are my top 4 fashion myths BUSTED!

What I Wore Today: Black is back!

True story about this jumpsuit – I was in Jeanswest with a styling client and another lady came out of the change room in this jumpsuit! I feel in love instantly! I told her so, and told my client she needs to get one – the lovely lady was so wonderful that she offered to take off her OWN jumpsuit that she owned and let my client try it on - she promptly feel in love with it too!

I had to have it (job hazard) so off I went to Shanton (probs not my FIRST place to shop) and there is was waiting for me! $39.99 – bargain!

My new favourite jumpsuit! I’m wore it with flats to see a client today, but a wedge will make it look a little more dressed up! (Sandals from Witchery)

My top 5 ideas for what to wear Christmas Day

Did you know that it is ONLY FOUR DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS???? (I know, I haven’t finished my Christmas shopping either!) but enough about everyone else, what are YOU going to wear Christmas Day?

Do you dress up? Do you sit by the pool? Or do you just laze in bed half the day (clearly you don’t have kids, it’s Ok – either do I). Well no matter what your plans are, it’s a great excuse to dress up!
