I love to bring you affordable fashion options when I can, but if you are a regular reader of the blog, you’ll know that there is something more important for me than just cheap clothes, and that is VERSATILE clothes!
Things that you can really get a good “bang for buck” from, by being able to wear them many different ways, because in this instance…
The cheapest option is not always the best option
One clothing item that I think is fantastic for showing off it’s versatility, is the jumpsuit – which is why, I LOVE me a great jumpsuit. It’s like a dress, but with pants included! Genius right?
They can be a little scary for some people though, (maybe because they think they are only for supermodels with long legs?) but I think that most people just don’t see the versatility in them, which is why I really wanted to do this post.
Here is a jumpsuit on the labels model…..
SHOP THE JUMPSUIT: Sacha Drake Solange Jumpsuit $249 (AUD)
There is a reason I choose this particular jumpsuit for this post. I believe it’s AMAZING value for money – it’s great quality, suits almost everyone, is Australian made and I’m about to show you just some of the different uses you can get out of it!
Now I know it’s not the cheapest option, but I want to show you how you can definitely get your money’s worth.
Weekend Casual
As I’ve said before, you can literally put ANYTHING with trainers and a denim jacket, and I wasn’t kidding! This jumpsuit is a great jersey fabric so doesn’t feel too “good or showy” for the daytime.
Plus it’s super-comfy and stretchy, which should be perfect for running around after the kids at the park!
To the Nines
You can’t go wrong with classic black when you have to “frock up” so to speak. I’ve worn this to heaps of events (particularly when i was pregnant! It was amazing for my expanding tummy)
One of the awesome things about this jumpsuit is the best is completely separate so it does not matter where you waist is (nothing worse than some camel-toe action because the waist is too high in a jumpsuit, am I right tall girls?).
Weekday Workwear
Who says workwear has to be boring! Now I don’t work in a corporate office, but with a blazer and the right shoes, this is perfect!
If you work in a more casual or creative industry, you’ve got a little more flexibility, so only your imagination is the limit on how you can wear this cool piece.
Now back to the price – I don’t want to hear excuses about how you can’t afford something like this! You actually can, it’s just all about how you prioritise your spending.
Here’s a thought… rather than buying a new piece from a “cheap + cheerful” chain store every week or month, why not decide you’re actually going to look at your spending habits, and save that purchase for something that is going to be better quality, more timeless, versatile and ultimately well worth the money.
Don’t think you’re spending that much on other clothes? I’ve been using Westpac’s new money-tracking app, CashNav, to see where all of my hard-earned money is going, and I can tell you, it’s shocking to see how much is spent on things that I “don’t really need”.
The app is a great way to look closely at your spending, then re-prioritise where that money goes – like onto something REALLY useful in your wardrobe – this jumpsuit for example!
Remember, I’m only going to ever recommend pieces that I REALLY think are worth their money, and this jumpsuit is definitely one of those things, it’s so beautifully made, and feels amazing to wear (oh, and did I mention that it’s machine washable?? I know right!)
Do you have your eye on something that you think you’ll get a LOT of wear out of and is worth saving up for? Tell me about it in the comments below and we can all save together!
