So I’m pretty sure this is a wardrobe staple for most of us so this should be a pretty easy blog post to play long with at home.

One thing I find when I’m talking to personal styling clients is that they have old faves in their wardrobe, like the stripe tee, but they can get stuck wearing it one way – usually with jeans, am I right?

So I wanted to give you a fresh take on how to work this wardrobe workhorse into your everyday wardrobe.

Here is the tee I’m talking about…

It’s a simple enough stripe tee, but the butterfly sleeve just makes it a little more special. It’s a gorgeous soft viscose elastane fabric, so perfect for tucking, tying and layering.

So here’s how to rock it three ways…. (and stripe tee will work if you’re playing along at home)

Layer It.

If narrow or shoestring straps aren’t your thing, or you just want to add another layer to your look (literally) then try wearing your stripe tee under a dress or jumpsuit…

This can work under a plain colour, or denim, or even a floral if you’re feeling brave!

Bonus Stylist Tip: worried about your tee riding up when you layer? Simple – just tuck it into your undies to keep it secure haha

Tuck it.

I’m still on a mission to get the whole world to tuck their tees in one wardrobe at a time! It can be a really flattering look! It defines your waist, lengthens your leg and can make your outfit look more polished.

You can choose to tuck you tee in the whole way around, for a polished look, or just try the front tuck for something a little more relaxed.

Bonus Stylist Tip: The key with the tuck, is actually the “tuck & blouse” – yes, you need to tuck your tee into your waistband, but then you need to pull it back out a little to create the blousing effect.

Tie It.

This is my favourite thing to do with my tee right now. It gives your outfit such a fab shape!

Tying you tee is not as hard as it looks, and if you’re not to sure on how to nail it, I’ve got a whole blog post on it here for you to read.

Bonus Stylist Tip: Print clash with stripes and florals – it’s a great way to ease yourself into this fun style.

A stripe tee is such a staple in everyone’s everyday wardrobe, but it’s easy to fall into the trap of just wearing it one way.

So hopefully now you have some new ideas on how to work your stripe tee into your everyday style.
