I love breastfeeding my girls. I fed Emmie until after I found out I was pregnant with Elliott – she was 15 months.
What I don’t love though, is all the dresses that sit in my wardrobe, unworn for so long because nobody wants to see my hike up my whole dress to get my boob out haha!
And I know I’m not alone in this! So this post is for all the breast-feeding mummas out there who just want to wear a frock! (oh, and all these dresses are non-maternity specific too so you can totally wear them even if you aren’t a b’feeding mumma x)

GET THE LOOK: Kmart wrap dress $22.00 | FRANKiE4 Footwear “NAOMi” boots $299.99
size note on the dress: I went up two sizes to a 16 for bust coverage but probably would have been find in a 14 (usually a 12)
And here are nine more (well eight more dresses and a jumpsuit. Couldn’t help myself.)

SHOP THE FROCKS
Top row l-r: Zara gingham button up dress $69.90 | Rock Your Style “Katy” dress $69.95 | Little Party Dress “Pippa” pinafore dress $69.95 | Postie+ button up dress $25.00
Bottom row l-r: Anthem wrap dress from The Warehouse $29.00 | Mrs Smith maxi dress $89.00 | H&M tie strap dress $29.99 | Jeanswest button through maxi $129.95 | Birdsnest Boho Bird “Summer Nights” jumpsuit $139.95
So how do these frocks become feeding-friendly? Well some of them can be pulled across, like the wrap dresses (and jumpsuit), and anything with a button-up is pretty easy too.
But don’t rule out anything off the shoulder. If you’re comfortable going back to your strapless bra, you can just pull one side down.
And a dress with ties, or a pinafore can just have one side un-done for easy access.
So turns out there are quite a few cute dresses out there that us boob-out mummas can wear and get the best of both worlds – yay!
Until Next Time, In Love & Style Always,

I didn’t wear dresses often while breastfeeding, so it’s great to see so many styles that work. I did do the double top – with a fitted tank worn without straps (there used to be a style with stretchy lace top and bottom, and shoestring straps that worked perfectly) underneath a top that could be pulled up, or across as required. As someone who breastfed for years, I appreciate seeing this kind of post in the mainstream, as it’s so important that Mums don’t feel they’re missing out on what’s important to them, and are able to breastfeed for a long as they choose.
Thank you! I need all the breastfeeding friendly suggestions. I feel like my wardrobe is so limited at the moment.
