Seems like a bit of a random post right? But my blog has always reflected what is going on in my own life, and right now I’m sick as a dog haha!
I’ve been fighting a rather nasty sinus infection for going on two weeks now (come on antibiotics!!) and you know what? I feel blah. And I hate feeling blah.
So I was thinking about the things that cheer me up when I’m feeling blah, not being bothered to really get dressed, or wash my hair (I know, lazy-girl right here) and I wanted to share some of them with you, in case you’re feeling under the weather and want to feel less blah too….. so here they are;
Top left: The Knit Miracle Dress from Cait & Co $75
This dress has been my savour when I’ve had to run out the door and look half-respectable. It’s a knit so it’s keeping me warm, plus it’s super comfy, because the last thing I feel like wearing when I’m sick is anything that requires effort and adjustment (or suck-em-in undies) plus I can layer it with tights or even skinny jeans. #zeroeffort #maximumstyle #winner (check out a few different ways to style your Miracle Dress here)
Top middle: Clinique Happy Gelato Cream for Hands $35
I’m not even sure if this is available anymore (so sorry if it’s not) but the smell of this hand cream is next level. I have it by my beside, and even thought I can’t smell much right now (thanks dodgy sinuses) this gorgeous scent still permeates through. Just having a nice smell around you instantly lifts your mood.
Top right: Peter Alexander PJ’s set $79.99 top $79.99 pants
Now I’m not usually a fancy PJ’s kinda girl (undies and breast-feeding singlet is how it usually goes down in my house right now) BUT, when I’m feeling rough, and I don’t have to leave the house, I feel like if I put of a flash pair of jammies, at least I look decent when the courier comes to the door right? The only thing that would make these PJ’s better was if they had a flamingo on them instead of a peacock haha
Bottom left: Parklands Duvet Cover Set from EziBuy $149.99
If I must stay in bed (ha. I have a 1-year-old, not going to happen) but let’s just say I could, being surrounded by a gorgeous duvet and sheet set just makes things a little nicer. I love my bed, like I loooooooove my bed, and I love it even more with all of the pretty colours and textures. Add some linen sheets and I’m living the dream.
Ecoya Celebration Candle $59.99
Another smelly thing (which my husband hates!) but they seems to do all of the warm fuzzies to me when I’m not feeling 100%. We had the previous incantation of this candle at our wedding, and I still have one at home so when I burn it, it not only makes me feel better, it brings back all of the lovely memories of my wedding day. Healing is half mental remember! If I can re-create happy thoughts, them hopefully by body will play along too and get better!
So now that I’ve given you some insight into what makes me feel better, hopefully I can help you when you’re feeling less-than-awesome yourself. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to pop my PJ’s on, fire up Outlander on the laptop (anyone else obsessed with Jamie??) and light a candle or 2…. at least for 20 minutes before the wee one wakes up…….
Tell me, what make you feel good when you are feeling less than? I’d love to know! Tell me in the comments below!
Until Next Time, In Love & Style (and tissues) Always,
I am soooooo with you on the Peter Alexander jammies…. nothing better than getting in them and not getting out! The Ecoya candle is a DIVINE idea too. Hope you feel better soon, babe! Xo
aren’t they gorgeous??? Feeling on the mend now thanks lady x
