So this is what it took to get me back onto the blog (sorry about that, I kinda wrote myself out of words after my 30,00 word thesis last year!) but I am so glad that it was the Golden Globes that finally kicked me back into blogging! (and A LOT of nagging from the boy!).
How could I let this go by without sharing my loves of the frocks! I’m currently sitting on the couch watching the replay of the awards, after watching the red carpet arrivals both live on E! and then again with the boy on Fox8 – “just hurry up and write the blog already” he just said! So ok, here are my best dressed for this years Globes, and why!
1. Charlie Theron – Dior
If this is not your quintessential Hollywood star, show me what is. Charlize is officially one of the most beautiful women in the world and in this dress, she bring its!
2. Sarah Michelle Gellar – Monique L’Huillier
I love the individuality of this choice (apparently her 2-year-old picked it out). This is what fashion is all about for me, finding something amazing, beautiful and different! Go Sarah!
3. Heidi Klum – Calvin Klein
For one of the worlds most glamorous women, Heidi has been known to get it not-so-right on the red carpet sometimes. This time? She NAILED it! What I love the most about this look though, is that is can translate to the rest of us. Find a simple, nude-tone shift dress – add a turquoise statement necklace and voila! You are channelling a supermodel!
4. Maria Menounos – I can’t find what designer she is wearing ANYWHERE!
But how totally amazing does she look anyway! I love the colour (it was a little more orange on TV, she called it Tangerine actually), I love the sequins (what fashionista DOESN’T love sequins) and I love the shape – cap sleeve and scooped neckline? Yes please!
5. Lea Michele – Marchesa
I’m still totally crushing on Lea Michele’s last two major red carpet looks (so much so, I had to include images of them!) Her Golden Globes effort was not quite AS amazing for me, but I think that she still rocks this look (I think some of the fairy dusty rubbed off from the other two frocks).
and her Golden Globes 2012 gown…
Some honorable mentions too (did you think I could really leave it at 5??!!? Come on!)
Who was your fave? Did I get it right? Did I miss anyone?
Charlize Theron in Dior was my favourite as well!Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace and I loved Emma Stone in Lanvin.Let’s talk about worst dressed though.Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen didn’t tickle my fancy one bit.
Totally agree with you on the Kelly Osborne thing, the dress just swamped her. Going to be controversial here but didn’t LOVE Angelina, and I am TOTALLY team Jolie most of the time. It was nice, but it was no emerald sequinned Versace from last years Globes
