Let’s be honest, there aren’t a whole lot of things to look forward to in Winter (I think that’s the Queenslander in me talking – Summer all the way!).

But I wanted to bring some Winter Love to you (and maybe to myself) so when I heard that my fave ice cream brand, Kapiti, won several awards at the recent New Zealand Ice Cream awards  (Vintage Strawberry & Cream, Black Doris Plum & Cream Fraiche, Passionfruit & Lemon Curd, Fig & Honey all won awards – yum!I thought why not keep that Winter love going and share with you some of my Winter faves!

So here are 5 of my favourite things this Winter – and I want YOU to help me work out the Supreme Winner! Find out how below……

1. Best Winter Dream Buy – Andrea Moore Coat

Best Winter Buy - Andrea moore Coat

Shop the coat: Andrea Moore “Glamorous Disregard” Coat in beet $895

This is a BIG call! (no pressure) and there were SO MANY contenders but I couldn’t go past this gorgeous coat from an incredible New Zealand designer.

This coat is not cheap, and it’s not black – but it is DIVINE. I haven’t bought it (yet) but I’m saving, and I’ve tried it on about 7 times, each time I fall more in love with it more. It’s the kind of coat that makes a statement, in a BIG way, but is elegant and flattering and classic enough to have, and wear, for years and years. Definitely worth investing in (it DOES also come in black for those that-way inclined)

2. Best Winter Skin Saviour – Essano Skincare

Beauty Brand Winner

Well this should be no surprise! You know how much I love this brand! (Plus their brand colours match mine haha). But seriously, in Winter, no matter what your skin type, the harsh weather can play havoc with your skin, so it’s extra-important to make sure its moisturised and taken care off.

Essano organic skincare is good for your skin, and good for your wallet! Double winner in my books.

3. Best Winter Decadent Dessert – Ice Cream Sandwich

Ice cream sandwich

Fellow Kapiti-lover and blogger Kirsten from High Tea With Dragons created this dessert and my mouth started watering on sight! What an awesome way to use ice cream (especially the Kapiti Black Doris Plum & Cream Fraiche!) in Winter…. now I just have to get The Husband to learn how to make it…….

4. Best Winter “Me Time” Treat – Heather Vette Nail Art

Winner- best nails

These amazing nails from the incredibly talented, and equally lovely, Heather Vette are such a great way to bring a smidge of Summer into the Winter.  There’s nothing like a pop of colour or fun on your nails in Winter to break up all the black and grey. Heather’s studio is sweet (and warm) and she makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in the door. Definitely a great way to beat the winter blues without breaking the bank. Book an appointment here.

5. Best Winter “Must Have” Shoe – The Ankle Boot

Ankle Boots Winner

Well this is no surprise. You know I LOVE an ankle boot. They are the most versatile shoe you can have through winter.

These Overland boots (get them here: Sword boot $249.95) are the perfect mix of casual and dressy, classic and funky, and the heel hight is one that most people will be confirmable in all day (speaking from personal experience). Jeans, tights, draped pants, what ever you are wearing, these wee boots will complete the look.
