Now before you start wagging your lululemon-clothed arms at me, let me just remind you that if you WANT to wear your activewear all day, and feel awesome in your activewear all day, then more power to you – this post isn’t for you. (but maybe this one is).
However, if you feel like you don’t have any other comfortable, easy-to-throw on options besides, your activewear, but you DON’T want to wear it all day everyday, then this post IS for you.
So many of my gorgeous 1-on-1 personal styling clients call me because they want other options for their everyday life, and it’s easier than you think.
In response to that, I thought that I’d put together a few outfits you can pull out in your everyday life that I PROMISE will be as comfy and easy to wear as your activewear.
The Sport-Luxe Look
This is a great outfit if you still want to keep your “Sporty-Spice” look and feel but not a pair of leggings or crop-top in sight.
SHOP THE LOOK: Silent Theory pants from Shine On $59.95 | Seed Heritage sleeveless knit $109.90 | EziBuy pull on trainers $39.99
Make the Jumpsuit your BFF
A jumpsuit is one of my favourite everyday go-to pieces. Especially on those days when you don’t have enough brain-power to work out what top matches what bottom, or when you realised too late that you haven’t shaved your legs? Yup those days.
Whether it’s a long version, or a short version, a jumpsuit is great for running around the park, or on the floor with the kids, but can also be worn to work, a coffee meeting or catching up with a girlfriend for lunch. Super- versatile (and 9 times out of 10, machine washable, and anti-ironing #bonus!)
SHOP THE LOOK: Winsdor Smith sandals from StyleTread $99.95 | Decjuba Mika overlay jumpsuit $169.95 | Decjuba Alexis playsuit $119.95
Dress it down.
Who said dresses have to be dressy? The right dress can be JUST as comfy (if not more) than your activewear, and like a jumpsuit, you only have to throw on one thing and you’re good to go!.
Look for stretchy fabrics that have some structure and support to them too, that way you’ll feel comfortable and have freedom of movement, but at the same time, you’ll feel supported. Win Win right?
SHOP THE LOOK: French Connection dress $119.90 | Rubi Shoes tan flats $19.95 | Bohemian Traders dreamer dress $151.
The jeans that don’t feel like jeans
You’ve heard me talk about these before, but these jeans really are the bomb.com. They are super-stretchy and really nice to wear. They practically feel like you’re in your gym gear anyway!
SHOP THE LOOK: Witchery gold flats $149.90 | Jeanswest Prima denim “Giselle” jeans $129.00 | Portmans spliced knit top $69.95
So there you have FOUR different outfit options to start with – no excuses not to get out of your gym gear now right?
Do you have a specific style question you want answered on the blog? Tell me in the comments below, I’d love to know.

I finally tried the Prima jeans…and omg how right you are! Amazing! The first skinny jeans that actually is fitted properly around my ankle! Ok so the 7/8 is a full length on me…but it fits so well!
P.s. they picked a good name f I r that particular model! 😉
Haha! How good are 7/8 jeans if you are a little height-restricted?? Glad you love them xx
Excellent post Cait! As tempting as it is to wear my Zumba instructor gear all day, one has to draw the line :-). I also remember one day turning up to lunch in my Adidas singlet and skort, and someone asking me if I have just played tennis, hahaha. I particularly love your stripe pants and white sleeveless knit top ensemble!
haha you’d look amazing in that outfit! (not that you don’t also look amazing in your Zumba gear too!) xx
