Day Two brought a slight change in the weather conditions, and clearly Auckland missed the memo about the outfit I was wearing, because it definitely was not in harmony with the weather – oh well – the things we do for fashion.

So first up on Day Two was the NZ Weddings Magazine Bridal Show (yep, try typing that on Instagram every time you want to post a photo….) I was lucky enough to be a guest of Brita Water (thanks to NZgirl) and the lovely Kirsten from Brita was a perfect host! Before the show Kirsten, the gorgeous Rachel from Made from Scratch and I chatted about weddings and all the little intricacies of whom to invite, where to have it and most importantly, what to wear (some of us are married, or engaged…. and then some of us are not….)

oh and then there were frocks…….

This was a group show with amazing bridal gowns from Vinka Design, Sera Lilly, Alma Wong, Robyn Cliffe and John Zimmermann – plus a sprinkling of dapper suits and grooms wear from Crane Brothers and Working Style. There was lace (lots of lace) and tulle (tons of tulle) and Vinka Design treated us to a retrospective from the 80’s to start the show (I think a few people in the crowd were suffering flash-backs when those gowns came out!)

Sera Lilly embraced the marriage equality theme by sending two female models down the runway – one dressed in a peplum lace top and satin trousers, and the other in a form-fitting gown

Here comes the brides!

Safe to say lace is still around for 2014, and I’m happy to say there wasn’t a strapless gown in sight! (ok, there were a few, but many more varied necklines than previous years). I may have bookmarked a few gowns to look at a little closer again soon…..wait, what?!

What I Wore: Day Two

In other news….. here’s what I wore on Day 2 – I had to take pics inside when I got home because the weather was appalling! Clearly this outfit is appropriate for winter-like sideways rain don’t you agree?

I’m wearing tee from Portmans, skirt from boohoo.com, heels from Target and clutch from Thailand

Love the look: Buy them here: Tee: Portmans – 2 for $40. Skirt: boohoo.com – $25

Then there was Trelise Cooper.

A tent, a hand bag as a goody bag, and a special edition chocolate pretty much sums it up. Oh, and there were some amazing clothes too!

With over 100 looks, these are just some of the highlights from the COOPER and Trelise Cooper Winter 2015 collections

Phew! That was a big day! But worth it for a glimpse of the amazing fashions on show. That’s fashion week done for me now, but stay tuned for another post or two with all the bits and pieces that made fashion week what it was for me (street style, instagram pics and backstage passses!)

After all that dressing up, it’s time for me to put my feet up on the couch – and yes I am wearing my Ugg boots 😉

Cait xoxo
