We’re home, the jet lag has (almost) worn off and the amazing trip we just undertook almost seems like a distant memory.
There was plenty of cocktails, lying in the sun, catching up with old friends (I miss you guys already!) and SHOPPING but more about that to come in later posts, first things first – let’s talk about THE WEDDING!!
My gorgeous friend Amber Hughes (well now Carroll, but she’s always be Amber Hughes to me) wed her beloved Irishman in a beautiful beachside ceremony in Phuket – there was even a special appearance from a baby elephant called Mariana – so cute!!
The bridal party and the groomsmen looked amazing, and the brides dress was divine! But more on that a little later – being someone else’s wedding it was all about what I wore right?
So I put out a pole on Facebook before I left and asked you all which dress I should wear – I had two options…..
The pole was split 50/50 down the middle so I decided to do the smart thing and take both, decide on the day, know what I mean? Well that would have been the smart thing to do, had we not left the suit bag containing The Boy’s suit, and the long dress, at the check in point at AUCKLAND AIRPORT! A fact we only figured out once we off the plane in BANGKOK AIRPORT #firstfailofthetrip.
Luckily I had packed the short dress in my suitcase so I had one option left, and the boy got a pair of pants and a shirt quite cheaply off the rack in a town full of tailors. I think my back up option was ok….
Oh yeah, the bride …… Well I can’t reveal what she wore yet as we are waiting for all the amazing official photographs to come out before we share all ours with family and friends (and blog readers) but I PROMISE I will come back here and update this post when I can show you the amazing dress she wore – she looked a dream….
I could not imagine a more perfect venue, and to celebrate one of my oldest besties getting married with friends from around the world was amazing! So cheers to you Amber Hughes and Jamie Carroll – may a beautiful wedding be followed by an even more beautiful marriage. xoxo
oh and kisses from the elephant (apparently its good luck! – I think it was just wet!)
Did you see the other two posts about my Thailand travels? Read the one about the SHOPPING here, and the one about the OUTFITS here.
What do you think of the dress choice I made? Which way would you have gone, long or short?
