Now don’t get me wrong, I love me some designer shoes….. it’s just that my bank balance doesn’t! I’ve been dreaming of the day I own a pair of Christian Louboutins since before I could walk in high heels! BUT I also love it when you find pieces that are very complimentary interpretations (read: direct ripoffs) of these amazing designer pieces at a price my bank manager (read: The Boy) will be happy with!

I have been lusting after these amazing YSL shoes (that’s Yves Saint Laurent… but apparently they are dropping the Yves… so maybe it’s just Saint Laurent now…) anywho….. I’ve been dreaming of these shoes (so practical for my life) ever since I saw one of my style idols, Paula Joye, wearing them on her blog (see the post here – warning: this chick has expensive, but divine, taste!)

And hooray! They are on sale now!! …… for only 427 pounds – yep. On Sale. Oh well, a girl can dream……

But then…… I walked into Novo shoes after a shopping session with a client, looking for a pair of sensible closed-toe wedges I can wear this winter, when I came across these little beauties….
Novo ‘Latara’ shoes in Turquoise NZ $79.95
OK, so they aren’t quite as stiletto and high, but I LOVE them! It’s the cross over detail at the front that is very similar. I also have to say, I like this heel a little better as it’s a little lower, and a LOT more sturdy (for the coordinationally challenged like me – fell down the stairs the other day. Wearing flats. With rubber soles. A solid heel is good for me).
