The Boy (who will be The Husband in just 47 days, yay!) was flicking through Instagram yesterday and came across a Dita Von Tease post – she was quoting Julie Newmar, the original Catwoman, and her quote really resonated with me……
She said;
Beauty is one third natural, one third spirit and one third illusion
I think this quote really personifies beauty even 60 years after Julie Newmar hit the TV screens.
Yes beauty DOES come from the inside, but you can also enhance the that beauty by dressing in a way that makes you look and feel amazing.
You’re natural beauty will shine through when you feel great in what you are wearing. This is the beauty of ILLUSION.
When you have CONFIDENCE and HAPPINESS on the inside, it shows on the outside. So much of that comes from body acceptance and love. This is the beauty of your SPIRIT.
With the wedding just around the corner, I’ve had those crazy bride moments when I’ve thought “holy crap! I need to lose 10 kgs by the wedding! I need to have a 6-pack by the wedding” but the reality is, The Boy is marrying me for who I am now – he asked me to marry him a year ago, when I WASN’T 10kgs lighter, and I DIDN’T have a 6 pack, so why should I be any different on my wedding day.
Be grateful and thankful for the body you have. It’s the only you have, and it’s done you well so far in life. It may have grown some little humans, or it may still have that to come. You may have big boobs, and a small waist, or you might have long legs and a little bottom, whatever your body looks like, it’s amazing. This is your NATURAL BEAUTY.
There is no one IDEAL of beauty, we are all beautiful in our own ways. Embrace your beauty, let your inner beauty shine through, enhance your body with the clothes and makeup you love and feel good in, and be a good person, both to yourself and others. Happy Monday.
Great post – I definitely do not understand the whole ‘diet before the wedding’ thing either! Lily x

Hear hear! I got married in New York after 3 weeks holidaying in the US. Was I going to give up all the awesome food to be 3kg lighter on my wedding day? hell no, the husband wasn’t trying to diet, so why should I?
LOVE it!! xx
