My family arrived in Auckland today to visit from Australia (yay!) So a trip to the airport was involved. As was quite a lot of what my family likes to call piss-farting around. This is where everyone is ready to go…. except for one person, who is normally looking for a set of keys, or a jumper…. or a pair of shoes to wear (not pointing any fingers….. ok that was me).. but that is beside the point (I just had to mention that for my little brother, who is often at the receiving end of the afore mentioned piss-farting).

Sooooooo, the moral of the rant is that today’s activities called for some practical shoes to walk around this beautiful city that I now live in….. enter my trusty Converse Chuck Taylors.

When all else fails…. pull out the connies!

These are definitely go-to shoes in winter (it used to be my ASOS ballet flats, but I need to wear socks in Auckland!). They work with almost anything! I have worn them with a maxi skirt and a jacket, tights and a dress but mostly with skinny jeans for that comfy, casual look.

I’m wearing: Today they were perfect with my new favourite ponte pants (I do have other pants, really, I promise…. maybe I need to do a seven-day pants challenge next?), my new favourite merino wool jumper from Katmandu (I just need to buy seven of these – one for each day!) and a nice, warm jacket from Portmans with leather-look sleeves (in stores now!)

I love my comfy converse…. they are a classic casual option

Mental note for next time I decide to wear my converse though…. check that the boy isn’t wearing his too………

It was an all-Converse household in our house today!

How did you go on day three? I’m predicting day four will be pretty tricky….. I better start thinking about my options now….
