Instagram is my happy place. I love scrolling through and looking at all the pretty pictures of pretty ladies in pretty clothes. It makes me happy. (it’s also easy to do one-handed while breastfeeding, not gonna lie).
I get so much inspiration from the gorgeous outfits I see – and I don’t just mean by copying them (although there is totally a bit of that too) but looking at colours, or pieces that other people have put together. I often think – “oh yeah, I could TOTALLY do that with ‘x’ and ‘y’ from my wardrobe.
I’m also making more of an effort to shop my own wardrobe (more on that in later posts), so Instagram is a great place to get ideas from.
And because I’m also the caring type, I wanted to share with YOU some of the fabulous outfits I’ve seen on ‘the’Gram’ recently and why I love them – so here they are, 10 of my faves!
1. Kendi Everyday @kendieveryday
Kendi is my fave. Like, I want to be her. I LOVE her style, it’s simple yet gorgeous! She’s from The States, but heaps of the stuff she features is available to ship to NZ, AND it’s usually pretty affordable too. Plus she is tall and brunette like me so I can see how things she wears might work on me too.
2. Chelsea from I Heart Bargains @iheartbargins
The name says it all right? A page where everything is under $100. Chelsea always looks amazing and styles things in a cool, be realistic way – super-mum really! Plus she is an Aussie so almost everything she posts about is available to us here in NZ too.
3. Courtney from Court Robinson @court_robinsionn
This gal is a must-follow for the pint-sized ladies out there. She is cute and sweet and her pics are gorgeous! Her style is really relatable and wearable, and yes, she is from the US, but you can definitely draw inspiration from what she wears.
4. Kristin from Hudson and Harper @hudsonandharper
It seems to be all Queenslanders and Americans in my list right? Another Sunshine Stater here – Kirstin from Hudson and Harper. Simple, wearable fashion aimed at 30+ (although under 30’s can definitely still take a leaf out of her book).
5. Amy from Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins @amy_cbandbp
Another cutie from the States. If you want to have some serious hair envy, the make sure you follow Amy! Her photos are fresh and bright and her style is really wearable (are you seeing a theme here?) Follow her from some great everyday style inspo (plus the girl loves stripes!)
6. Brooke from What Brooke Wore @what_brooke_wore
Not only this gorgeous bubbly blonde a fellow Queenslander, she’s now a ‘real life friend’ too (as opposed to an insta-friend).
She’s super-styley, and frickin funny, and not scared to post the occasional pic in her undies. She’s also relatable, down to earth, and wears things that the rest of us can get our hands on too. She’s the bomb.com.
7. Kathleen from Carrie Bradshaw Lied @carriebradshawlied
I love that she called her blog (and therefore her insta) Carrie Bradshaw Lied! Kathleen, in her own words, “realized life after college wasn’t as effortlessly fabulous and sprinkled with sparkle as Carrie Bradshaw led me to believe post-grad life might be”. Love it!
She’s stunning! But just because we don’t all look like Kathleen, doesn’t mean we can’t get inspiration from her style. Her blend of casual looks and fabulous fashion is awesome!
8. Rosie Clayton @rclayton
The walls. The end.
9. Alex from What the Teacher Wears @whattheteacherwears
Not only is this gal absolutely GORGEOUS, but she is genuinely someone you can follow for everyday style inspo because she wears stuff that the rest of us can wear!
10. Andrea from And Andrea @andandreastyle
I just have major ‘pose’ envy! Andrea always seems to nail the cool, yet relaxed insta pose that I’m totes crushing on. Her style is edgy and relaxed, but totally do-able! So much inspo in one instagram account.
So much style inspiration from these 10 accounts don’t you think? I love getting great outfit ideas from other fabulous stylistas around the world.
They don’t have to look like you, or even live in the same place as you, but you can still get some great ideas from these gorgeous ladies ( oh and don’t forget to follow me if you don’t already! @chasingcait_stylecoach)
Are there any “must-follow” Instagram accounts that you follow? Well come on, share the love and tell us about them in the comments below!
This is fantastic… am rushing off to follow !
I like Caroline Rector of Un-fancy( https://www.instagram.com/caroline_joy/). She is into being mindful and having a capsuleish wardrobe. She is from the states and has popped up in magazines like magnolia journal from the couple on hgtv’s fixer upper.
