yep. You read that right. I’m wearing a cardigan.
For those of you that have had a 1-on-1 style coaching session, or attended one of my workshops, you’ll know that cardigans and I don’t really get on.
You see, generally I don’t really think there is any occasion where a cardigan is the best option. There is always something that will make you feel that little bit more dressed up, put together, stylish.
But I’ve been proved wrong (I can admit it. Just don’t tell me husband.).
When I was scouting for another blog post in Farmers last week, I came across a little blush pink number from their causal brand, Zest.
And do you know what? I loved it so much I wanted to give it a whole post on it’s own! So here it is!
GET THE LOOK: Zest Cardigan from Farmers $79.99 | Susanne Grae stripe top $19.95 | Witchery jeans (last season) similar here from Glassons $39.99 | Cait & Co necklace $35 | Rubi Shoes trainers $54.95 (not online but still in stores!)
Ok, so WHY do I love it?
Well first off, I think because it isn’t black or grey or navy! As you may have guessed, I’m loving all the blush tones this Winter, it’s so nice to have something light and fresh.
And secondly, this is the kicker, see that little drawstring detail? It means that the cardigan gives you some shape through your waist!
My biggest issue with cardigans is that people always complain they feel frumpy when they wear one. This is mostly because it just hangs straight down off you shoulders, generally colliding in the complete wrong place on your hips, covering up all your beautiful shape.
SO if you can find one that comes in at the waist, like this little number, then you and the cardigan are good to go.
How do you feel about the humble cardi? I’d love to know so make sure you tell me in the comments below

I love cardi’s. will have to try this one. My daughter got blush high tops from Next and I wanted to get yours to match (she is 4 and loves to match mummy) but Palmerston North doesn’t have a rubi shoes!! So sad!!!
And it has pockets! Pockets are a mums best friend.
Ha ha, I bought one in exactly this colour on Monday…and wore it with a navy stripe the next day.
I agree totally. If you have a waist and hips, waist shaping is a necessity whether it be a cardigan, sweatshirt or jacket.
