Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era – I grew up a child of the 80’s and a teenager in the 90’s (hence you will NOT see me in this winter’s 90’s fashion that is coming our way……*shudders*) but sometimes I wish I was in my fashion hey-day in the 70’s. The psychedelic colours and prints, the flowing maxi dresses, the shoes and the jumpsuits, oooooh the jumpsuits.
Being taller than the average bear, it can be tricky to find any sort of one-piece garment with enough length in the body (camel toes needn’t apply here) but when I do, I jump for joy! My tip is try the size up, most jumpsuits and playsuits (the short version of a jumpsuit) will have some sort of waist that you can just tie a little tighter if it is big, the size up will always give you a little more length though, vital if you don’t want to feel cut in two at the end of the day!
This monochrome print jumpsuit is a relatively new purchase from Portmans (find similar here). It was on sale and the size 14 happened to be the only one left! Perfect! (see previous para re going up a size if you have a height advantage).
I’m loving teaming black and white prints with block colours that POP! (just like this post here) so this time I just added a pop of my fave bright lippy to add some wow! Alternatively you could wear some coloured shoes, or a wow necklace, or even a bright bag!
On this particular day, I had a very important work meeting – I had to look like I knew what I was talking about when it comes to style, I hope I did ok!
Jumpsuit ~ Portmans $89.95
Wedges ~ Country Road (still available in some stores, but not online)
Lips ~ M.A.C “Girl About Town”
So hopefully my Magic Monochrome paid off in my business meeting! But regardless, I love this look because I think it shows of my hourglass curves nicely – to me, it’s proof to all you gorgeous girls out there that you can have fun with fashion no matter what shape or size you are!
Until next time,
Love & Style Always
