Oh hey there! Remember me? Well I’m BACK! Freshly married (you can call me Mrs Taylor from now on) and ready to get Chasing Cait cranking this year! (I know it’s Feb already! Give me a break, I’ve had a bit on!)
Thanks so much for all your amazing suggestions for blog post topics over on Facebook and Instagram, I can’t wait to start using all those amazing ideas and turning them into useful and entertaining posts.
I’m going to kick things off with a WIWT post from my second “official” day back at work. I had my fortnightly girls networking meeting and then some press showings for a VERY exciting project I’ve been working on (more on that next week when I can FINALLY spill the beans!)
So here’s what I wore for tramping around town…..
SHOP THE LOOK: Capsule Collection Australia “classic black dress”$90 I’m wearing a M | Senso “Riley V” from The Iconic $275(aus)Â
This dress should be a staple in every girls wardrobe. It’s flattering, comfortable and can pretty much be worn any way you want! That’s kinda the point behind the whole of the Capsule Collection from which this dress is from (you can read more about Capsule Collection here)
It’s made from a thin jersey, so the right undies (and even a slip if it’s not too hot) are advised, but it’s such a dream to wear. I can’t wait to layer it up as the weather gets cooler too (I’m totally going to try that scarf-belted-over-dress look…. if you don’t know what I’m talking about, stay tuned for a post about it in the coming months….)
I love the detail in the back of this dress so much! It’s such a sexy low scoop, yet still high enough to wear your normal bra! It stays put on your shoulders too which is always a bonus!
These shoes are fast becoming my faves (I also have them in black) they are officially THE most comfortable heel I think I’ve ever worn! big call, I know, but they are not super-high, you are strapped into them as loosely or a tightly as you want to be, and there is no squishing of the toes!
Photo-bombing kitty! At least we match….
And here is your double-dose of flamingoes! I bought these fantastic earrings on the morning of my hens as I’d forgotten to bring some earrings of my own, and they couldn’t be more perfect! Flamingos are the new pineapple – you heard it here first people!
So a LBD and Leopard were my companions today for some Very Important Meetings. A fail-safe team if I ever found one.
What is YOUR fail-safe combination? Tell me in the comments below, I’d love to hear!
Love this look and adore those shoes. I’ve been attempting to style my LBD 52 weeks and interestingly my last prompt was WILD aka animal print. If you have time, you should pop over and link up.
thanks lovely! have just popped over and joined the link love – LOVE your blog! Will be a regular reader from now on! xx
I’m in love with those shoes, they look both sexy and comfortable (aka my dream combo).
You and me both lady! I have two pairs! x
Can you please tell me some more about the quality of the dress? I love the look but I’m always worried about jersey clinging in all the wrong places, or being a bit too see-through.
Is it a good quality jersey? Does it wash well and seams stay straight after washing?
Hey Bettina, it is quite a fine jersey, so as I mentioned, you WILL probably need to wear some sort of shapewear (but that could just be something as simple as a slip).
It’s not see-through at all, and it washes really well – it’s vert soft and doesn’t loose it shape at all (I’ve washed it about 5 times and it’s still in perfect nick!)
Hope that helps xx
LOVE this look! I’m far too frumpy and lumpy at the moment after recently having my second baby, but I’ll be bookmarking it.
awwwww A slip is always a great idea under dresses like this! (and I ALWAYS wear some sort of ‘support undies’ too) ;-0
xx
Love it! Had my eye on this for ages. Do you think it would work OK for gals with boobs and a bit of a tum? Love the idea of suck it in pants though – hadn’t thought of that.
Yes yes yes! You are talking to the girl with big boos and a bit of a tum so perfect for that haha! I’ve just got simple (and not FULLY insane) ones on from Kmart – a slip works wonders too, plus, like I mentioned the back is still ok with a normal bra so the girls are supported x
