There is a joke in the fashion circles that there will always be three new trends for Spring – Florals, Nautical and White (oh my!) and the fashion industry has not failed us yet. This Spring, however, there is a new kind on the block – Monochrome.

Monochrome takes Spring’s white trend, and raises it a black to go with it. What I love about colour trends is that ANYONE can wear them in their own way. You don’t have to fit into a certain shaped dress, or work with a particular skirt style, you can pretty much wear ANYTHING you want with the monochrome trend – so long as there is black and white involved – easy huh!

So here is my first go on monochrome (but being one not dictated to by trends I couldn’t help but add a little colour pop too!)

Now if black and white are too harsh for you to wear next to your face, you can still get into this trend! Just reverse my look and use a colourful necklace or scarf to break up the black and white next to your face – or opt for a colour on top and just go monochrome on the bottom half.
