I just asked The Hubby what today’s blog should be about, as we sit here listening to the rain fall thanks to Auckland coping the edge of Cyclone Pam.

He said “wet weather”.

He ain’t no slouch.

It’s gonna be wet here in Auckland for at least the next few days, and I’m sure the rest of you reading will have some rain sometime soon (it is the wet season after all!)

So I’ve compiled my top 5 pieces to still stay stylish in the wet weather!

1. Typo mug $14.99 – hot chocolate anyone? (or maybe wine……) There’s nothing better than sitting rugged up on the couch with a warm cuppa. These mugs from Typo are funny and cute, keeping you happy on a rainy day (sounds like the perfect boyfriend too doesn’t it).

2. Hunter gum boots from The Iconic $115 (on sale) – My father-in-law laughed at me when I bought PINK gumboots, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. These Hunter Wellington boots are chic and practical for what you DO have to go out in the rain.

3. Decjuba slice back knit $89.95  – A lightweight knit is always good to throw on, even in the summer rain (ok, maybe not you Queenslanders, but the rest of us). If you get a little wet, you can feel the chill a little more, so the lightweight fabric will keep you warm. It also fits nicely under item number 5…..

4. Chi Chi “Fashion Police” matte lipstick $18.95 – a BRIGHT lippy is always a quick and easy way to cheer yourself (and others) up on a rainy day! Particularly if your wet-weather gear is all black (like most peoples is).

4. Gorman moon moth raincoat $99 (in store only) – how gorgeous is this print! (well if it’s not for you, maybe this one is) Like the bright lippy, a rainy day is more fun with colour and print! Paired with your new teal Hunters (number 2) you’ll be the most colourful minion when it rains!
