Yup. It’s finally happened. A couples blog post. The Boy is often instrumental is helping me decide what I’m wearing each day… ‘hoooooooooneeeeeeeey! I what am I wearing todaaaaaaaaaaaaay’ is not an uncommon phrase to be heard in our house 10 minutes before we have to be out the door (did I mention I am NOT a morning person?)

So with all that help, I thought it would be nice to share this what I wore post with Thy Boy (soon to become The Husband! three months and counting, what?! I’m so not stressed!)

The Boy has a great sense of style, and he’s lucky enough, like me, to pretty much wear what he wants (he works in digital PR land) so we both tend to favour the casual, yet professional look in our everyday work/life outfits.

The weather is turning warmer (summer is SO CLOSE!) yet there is still enough of a nip in the air to be reminded that it’s not quite here yet so picking those trans-seasonal outfits with just the right amount of warmth is tricky!

I’ve found laying light pieces work for me, while The Boy has opted for long sleeve tees and jeans.

Expert tip: Dressing for the trans-seasonal weather is all about mixing your summer and winter pieces together to come up with the right combination for the weather (which has been changing HOURLY in Auckland over the last few days).

Try wearing your winter dress without the tights and boots, or rock the bare legs with the boots if you are brave enough (Palmers does a great daily fake tan if you want to get your pins out but are afraid you’ll blind someone with the glare)

Now is the time for light layers such as kimonos, vests and anoraks that don’t get much of a look-in when it’s colder. They just give you enough coverage to take the edge off that chilly wind!

How are you coping with the trans-seasonal weather? Any Summer/Winter combos that are working for you? Tell me in the comments below, I’d love to hear

Until Next Time,
In Love & Style Always,
Cait xoxo
