I always say that accessories are like tying a bow on a present, they aren’t always a necessity, but man they just finish off the job nicely.
But accessories – what, how, how many, where to find them etc can be quite a daunting space (walked into a Lovisa shop lately?)

My ‘go to’ summer bag – The Cult Gaia bamboo bag from The Iconic $230 (aud)

I’ve had a couple of requests for an accessories post so here it is!

I’ve pulled together a bunch of my fave hats, scarves, bags, belts and jewellery, plus a few expert tips on how to work them into your everyday style.

Ok, so now that you’ve got the ‘what” and “where from”, let’s look at the “how”…..

In a nut shell. JUST PUT SOMETHING ON.

Accessories generally don’t have much of a practical purpose (hats can be the exception) but they sure do add a bunch of fun and style personality right?

So half the trick is remembering to actually WEAR your accessories. Simple as that.

I love adding this Me & The Brave felt hat to my outfits to elevate my look. If I want to feel a little bit boho, it’s the perfect addition to any outfit.

Add a little extra to a simple outfit

If your outfit feels a little plain or boring, try adding an accessory to give your look a little something extra. Start with something simple like a jewellery…

I love stringing my Heavens to Betsy necklaces together to create a more dramatic look.

Be bolder.

Don’t be scared to push your style boundaries a little. It’s honestly the way I’ve had the most fun with accessories!

If your first thought it “oh that’s too much”…. give it a minute for your brain to catch up! It probably looks really cool!

The amount of times people say to me “oh that looks great on you, but it just looks silly on me”, man I wish a dollar!

Guess what, it actually doesn’t look silly on you, you’re just not used to seeing yourself do something different. Stick with it and give it a try.

You really can have a bunch of fun with your accessories, it’s just a matter of trying.

And remember, if you need a little more everyday inspo on how to wear different accessories, make sure you’re following along with me over on Facebook and Instagram. It’s where I share the outfits I wear in my everyday life, accessories included.
