No, not like that! I mean fitted properly for a bra.

Some are bigger than others (and growing by the day if we’re pregnant!) but no matter what the size or shape of your boobs, the right bra can make a world of difference!

Looking great starts with the right foundations (basically, well-supported boobs = you look a size smaller right? woot woot!) so I was super-excited when the gorgeous Emma, an Intimo Lingerie consultant got in touch and offered to do a 1-on-1 bra fitting for me!

Great, but what is Intimo?

Well! If you haven’t heard of Intimo Lingerie let me educate you 🙂 Started in Australia in over 20 years ago, Intimo originated as a direct-selling (ie party plan) company with an extended size range of different and unique (and well made!) lingerie.

It’s grown over the last 20 years, and crossed the ditch, giving both Aussie and kiwi lasses the chance to have killer knockers no matter their size!

OK, and why was it the best bra-fitting ever?

I had the lovely Emma Alison come to my house for a private fitting and boy does she know her stuff! She is not only a trained bra-fitter, but she really understands her product, and can look at you, and go hunt out the absolute right bra from the collection for you needs (no matter what they are.)

In the comfort and privacy of my own home, Emma started the fitting by measuring me. You know that saying that most of us are wearing the wrong sized bra? Well it’s true, even me in this case! I’m usually pretty much a 12DD 99.9% of the time, but have changed to a 14D with the pregnancy and haven’t been bothered to get new bras yet, so I’m starting to spill out of the old ones (not a good look for anyone, let alone a stylist right?).

Then we discussed my needs – a good everyday-tee-shirt bra, but I also don’t like bras with too much padding in them, so Emma suggested a gorgeous support bra (it’s a soft cup, rather than totally lined) that I loved too!

Once we worked out my size, and fitted the right bra – we did the good old “t-shirt test”. You know, where you out your tee-shirt back on to see what shape the bra gives your boobs WITH CLOTHES ON – very important. What I loved even more, was that Emma suggested it before I could even whip out my t-shirt!! I’ve never had a bra-fitter suggest that before, it’s always me having to explain what I was doing – so that definitely earned Emma extra points!

So what did I end up with? 

I love me some sexy underwear as much as the next lady but I also love the comfort and wearability of an everyday t-shirt bra. I have so many different coloured tops that a great nude bra is always a useful option for me to have in my lingerie collection.

So after talking about what I needed, this is what the lovely Emma suggested….
