Hello animal print! You’re not going anywhere anytime soon are you. I can’t remember a print trend that has been SO big in so long! I feel like, what did we even wear before animal print was everywhere haha.
As you may have read previously, I’m a newbie to animal print – the traditional brown/yellow leopard print isn’t really my bag (the colours and I just do not get on), but there are so many other variations, that I’m well and truly indoctrinated in the trend now!
So when I saw this fab skirt from, none other than good ole Kmart, the white and black in the print appealed to me, and for $20 I had to give it a go.
This midi skirt is a great everyday option. Here’s the lowdown:
FABIC: It’s 100% viscose, so really soft and easy care.
FIT: It has an elastic back waist, and it’s flat across the tum. I bought my usual size (12) as I’m wearing it up on my waist.
CARE: Machine wash and gentle steam / iron if needed (most of the time you can just hang this kind of skirt on a hanger after washing and it will be 99% crease-free
So here are the three different ways I’ve styled it, to give you some inspiration on wearing a cute skirt like this in your everyday life.
Tied Tee
You know I loved a tied tee – and it’s no different with this skirt.
Because this skirt can be worn high up on the waist, it works perfectly with a tied tee. You could also tuck in a tee if it feel a bit too hard to knot. (I’ve cheated with this tee and used a hair tie to create the knot, still not confident? Have a read of this post I wrote on how to knot your tee).
Night Out.
Sometimes (once in a blue moon) this mumma gets to hit the town! And because I LOVE getting the most out of my clothes (and love helping you do the same), I’ve styled what feels like a daytime skirt into a perfect nighttime look.
A strappy heel is the perfect partner for a midi skirt, it just elongates the leg a little, but doesn’t add to much bulk to your leg.
Winter is coming.
How scary is it that winter styles are starting to appear in stores! BUT it’s always good to plan ahead and think about the versatility you can get from your pieces.
I’ll be wearing this baby right through winter, just adding a few more layers as it cools down.
SUCH a versatile skirt right? There are so many other ways you can use it in your everyday wardrobe.
And these styling ideas can be applied to any midi skirt that you may own, or have your eye on.
So I hope that gives you a little more inspiration for your everyday style, after all, that’s why I’m here!
