It’s all about linen love this Spring!

Linen is such a lovely fabric to wear. It’s a natural fibre, so it breathes, and it has such an elegant, timeless feel. Combine that with the classic, sophisticated shape of a blazer and you’ve got a match made in heaven right?

So when the team at Max Fashion showed me this gorgeous linen blazer from their latest collection, I couldn’t wait to share it with you guys and show you how you can work it into your everyday wardrobes!

What I love the most about the combo of soft, casual linen + structured blazer shape is the added versatility you get out of this piece (rather than just your standard blazer). The shape makes this jacket feel smart and sophisticated yet the linen fabric gives it more of a casual feel, making it such a great jacket for so many occasions!

So do you want to see how you can wear it at least three different ways in your everyday life? Sure you do!

First off, here’s the gorgeous blazer….

SHOP THE BLAZER: The Linen Blazer from Max $159.99

I could have created about 10 outfits with this gorgeous piece, I was hard to stop at three (and also SO hard to choose a colour, how gorgeous are all three options!) but I managed, and here’s how I worked it into three fun looks to inspire you….

Fun and Flirty

Nothing adds instant sophistication to any outfit like a blazer and I love how this jacket works back with this on-trend gingham dress to dress it up just a little more. Because the blazer is hip-length, I’ve added a heel (first instinct was to wear it with a trainer) just to lengthen the proportions of the outfit.

This is the perfect work to play look for a fun, flirty Friday don’t you think?

Bonus Stylist Tip: Not sure how to care for your linen? Well then, here’s a post I prepared earlier that gives you all the deets! (see, I’ve got your back)

Suit It Up.

I love a summer suit! And again, add the linen component and you’ve got instant casual elegance.

I’ve added a wee wedge, again just to help elongate the silhouette (always helpful when wearing shorts) and rather than adding a standard black or white top underneath, I’ve gone with a pop of colour – don’t be scared of bright colour! It can really lift an outfit and make it look extra-special!

I also have to give a special shout-out to these shorts! They are actually the perfect cut. The perfect Goldilocks length (not too long and not too short), they have a flat front panel, genius across the tummy, but they have an elasticated back waist (so more flexibility in fit!) AND they have pockets – no brainer!

Simple and Sophisticated

I love a classic look because you know it always works. Jeans + tee + blazer + heels is a tried and true formula, perfect for a girls lunch, a work do or date night.

If you want a slightly more casual take, just swap the heels out for brogues or trainers and hey presto! Smart/casual perfection.

I’ve kept the colour-palette light and fresh for Spring, no dark colours or black needed for this look!

Max are really nailing their linen collection right now (it’s not just the jacket remember. There are shirts, tees, shorts and pants) so make sure you head into store and get your hands on these gorgeous, timeless pieces – a worthy investment in your long-term wardrobe!
