Welcome to 2018 my friend!

I know that’s the pretty stock-standard way to start a blog post, but it’s my first of the year and I don’t wanna feel left out haha!

Exciting things to come in 2018! Bebe 2.0 is due in May, but don’t worry, I’ll still bring you the same witty, intelligent, thoughtful blog posts I do each week (haha – nah, just some cool fashion stuff really).

So first cab off the rank, I thought I’d start with one of our favourite series – 1 Item, 3 Ways. This series of posts is designed to show you clothes that have versatility, so you can get more bang for your buck when making those style purchases.

So when I saw this gorgeous dress from Aussie label PQ, first of all, I knew I had to have it in the Cait & Co store – because it really is a dress that is a little different, but will suit most shapes and sizes.

But then I had to write a blog post about it because I also wanted to show you guys WHY I thought it would be a good purchase! The fabric is awesome, the sizing is SUPER-easy to buy online (there are only 2 sizes to choose from – S/M and M/L that will fit anyone from an 8 – 18), and it’s just a fun dress.

So here it is, and how I’ve styled it for you;

OPTION #1 Dress it up

It’s hard to see in some of the shots, but this dress has a cool silver spot detail on it which makes it a little more special than the average bear. It also means you can dress it up if you want to!

Great for a daytime event (with the hat) or just add a great clutch for nighttime.

OUTFIT DETAILS: Peak Front Maxi Dress from Cait & Co $99 | French Connection felt hat (similar here from Kmart for $12) | Mi Piaci leather heels (old season, similar here)

OUTFIT #2: Casual Lunch Date

Of course this dress is going to be a killer with the usual trainers and denim jacket too, but I wanted to give you another more casual option.

These nude wedges from Novo have been a go-to of mine for summer (they go with EVERYTHING!) and I really think they give this frock a more casual feel. I’ve also added a statement earring – it’s totally the accessory of the season!

OUTFIT DETAILS:  Peak Front Maxi Dress from Cait & Co $99 | Novo natural wedges (sold out online)  | Cait & Co “Charlotte” earrings $25 | Saben “Dash” handbag in pacific blue $420 {kindly gifted}

OUTFIT #3 – Winter Warmer

I know this won’t necessarily work now (hello 30 degrees in Auckland!) but this is where it’s all about thinking ahead with your style.

This dress isn’t just for summer! In fact it will take you through all four seasons with the right accessories. Here is how you can style it up for the cooler months.

OUTFIT DETAILS:  Peak Front Maxi Dress from Cait & Co $99 | Samvara leather jacket (old season) | Alias Mae boots (old season)

The detail in this dress is incredible, and the weight of the tee shirt jersey is lovely to wear (I’m 6 months pregnant and you can hardly tell right??). This shot might give you more idea of the silver detail. Gorgeous right?

I love the drape of this dress, perfect for skimming over hips, or tummy, or whatever part you want to skim over, but the softness of the fabric also helps to show off your shape in a subtle way too.

LOVE IT? You can get your very own from my Cait & Co store here. I’m always looking for styles to put in the store that I think you guys will love and get heaps of use out of in your own wardrobe, and I think I’ve nailed it with this beauty!

So happy 2018! Let’s make this year all about looking and feeling awesome in the skin we’re in! Embrace and enjoy your everyday style, it makes like so much more fun right?
