I LOVE doing this series on the blog, it’s definitely up there with one of my favourite things to talk to you guys about – how to get the most BANG FOR BUCK out of your clothes.
When ever I’m shopping with a personal styling client, one of the “golden rules of shopping” I tell them is that if they like something, they have to be able to think of THREE OTHER THINGS they already own that they can wear with it.
This is the KEY to versatile dressing. So this series is kinda a bit of a spin on that. I’ve got one cool item that I love, and I’m showing you how to wear it three different ways.
Now please excuse the lack of outfit pics (I’m much rather show you how to wear this on my, but my growing baby bump is making it a little trickier), so you’ll just have to trust me that how I suggest to style it actually does work! (and you’ll know what I mean when I get there haha)
Ok, so here is my latest item, the gorgeous “Viva La Brunch” tee from Ruby & Lilli (you can grab yours from The Chasing Cait Shop!)…..
SHOP THE TEE: Ruby & Lilli tee from The Chasing Cait Shop $45
And here are three different ways to style it!
This could be a great look for casual Friday, date night, or catching up with the girls. The jacket adds some sophistication but the tee and jeans keep it feeling nice and relaxed. This is such a staple look of mine! Perfectly smart/casual for almost any occasion.
SHOP THE LOOK: Ruby & Lilli tee from The Chasing Cait Shop $45 | Max “dylan” biker jeans $119.99 | Esprit stripe blazer $49.95 (AU$) | Pulp Noir boots from Hannahs $125.95 (on sale)
People don’t think about wearing a tee in a more dressed up way, but I LOVE this look! Now this is the important part – you need to TUCK THE TEE IN!
The whole point of ladylike is that you define your waist and contrast against the simple casualness with the femininity of the skirt. Add a bright heel and some fab jewellery and you’ll be the life of any party!
SHOP THE LOOK: Ruby & Lilli tee from The Chasing Cait Shop $45 | Decjuba pleated skirt $99.95 | Witchery beaded tassel earrings $54.95 | Nine West “Trisha” pumps in red $89.95
Want a different option that just jeans and a tee for the weekend but still want to be comfy? Draped pants and a funky jacket are a great compliment for this cool tee. To create a little shape, just tuck the front of the tee into the pants, and if the pants feel too long, just roll the hem once or twice and pair with some cool trainers – perfect for Saturday by the soccer sidelines!
SHOP THE LOOK: Ruby & Lilli tee from The Chasing Cait Shop $45 | Gorman “Broken Quilt” jacket $299 | Adidas trainers from The Iconic $96.00 | Betty Basic pants from The Chasing Cait Shop $39.
As promised, 3 different ways with the one cool tee! Are there any items you’d like to see in the 1 item, 3 ways series? I’d love to know so make sure you tell me in the comments below.

Hi Russinda, I’m not sure at this stage, just waiting on confirmation that they have some more for me. I’ll put something up on Facebook when they come back. Sorry!

Hey, I love this series too! I have a couple of maxi skirts and I never wear them because u have no idea how or what to wear them with. Like should it be a baggy top? Or tight top? And what shoes without looking like I’m a witch in boots. Cheers!
We can definitely look at doing a maxi skirt for winter post! Great idea 🙂 (they are so much easier in Summer right?)
