A girl can never have too many shoes right? (hubby would beg to differ). BUT if you don’t want to take up all of the spare rooms in your house with shoe boxes, then you need shoes that will have a bit of versatility in them.
You guys know I LOVE to show you how to wear things in different ways (buy less, wear more right) so when the lovely folks at Ziera Shoes sent me these gorgeous flats, the first thing I thought was, “OMG you can wear these with almost anything!”.
And then I put them on.
I think the actual words out of my mouth were “holy s*%t. These feel like little clouds“. No word of a lie. Hubby was there to back me up.
So not only are they super-funky and on-trend, they are a dream to wear! (which is more than I can say for a lot of the flats out there right now right?)
Think of this post as a bit of a 2-in 1 too! Not only is it a “1 item, 3 ways” kinda situation, but it’s also a bit of a “how to wear brogue-style shoes” too.
I know this is a style of shoe that people would like to try, but just aren’t sure how to wear them so hopefully this post will give you a few more styling ideas.
So here are the lovely shoes I’m talking about (you can get your hands on them here)
And here is how I’ve styled them for three different situations:
EVERYDAY SMART CASUAL
If all else fails, just add jeans and a top right? But it doesn’t have to be boring! Add some texture, print or colour to your top to make this “everyday uniform” stand out a little.
I also love the classic combo of tan, white and denim. Some things will never date right?
What I’m Wearing: Seed lace top (old season) | Decjuba Riley biker jeans $109.95^ | Madewell tote bag from Shopbop $250 | Ziera “Omaha” flat shoes $249.95
OUT WITH THE BFF’S
I think this was my fave look out of the three (never mind that the skirt now doesn’t do up since I shot this a few days back…. damn growing baby bump haha!). It’s fun, it’s casual, it’s summery, and I just felt really feminine in it.
I also applied an old French woman rule of style that says if a skirt finishes about the knee, it looks great with a flat shoe.
I’d wear this outfit to work (if you worked in a relaxed or creative environment), out to lunch with the girls, or even on date night.
I’m Wearing: Betty Basics “Milan” tee $39 | H&M skirt (last summer) | vintage clutch bag (similar here) | Ziera “Omaha” flat shoes $249.95
WORK DAY BLACK
I love pairing an all-black outfit with tan shoes. I think it makes the look feel slightly more daytime appropriate, hence perfect for work.
You could also pair these tan flaties with some black skinny pants (like these from Decjuba^) and a black blouse for work if a dress isn’t your thing.
But here’s how I styled these fun flats for work with a frock and a jacket…
And this is why I love them:
- they are the perfect summer flat if you don’t like showing your toes (weird, but I get it)
- the strap is adjustable so you can get the fit just right
- they have a super-comfy leather upper, and leather insole, but with a rubber sole so you don’t stack it
- they are fitted with Ziera’s “PillowWalk”. A contoured and cushioned footbed with memory foam for luxurious comfort all day
- um, and they are super-cute!
I was honestly happily surprised with how much I loved styling these shoes! I love that they look like a closed-in flat, but the back strap makes them more summer-appropriate. And I’d also forgotten how good a classic tan shoe is!
So if you are looking for a great summer all-rounder, these are your winner my friend. Thoughts? How would you style them? Tell me in the comments below, I’d love to know!
