I’ve been getting a whole bunch of questions from you lovely lot recently about Winter shoe options that aren’t trainers, so this blog couldn’t come at a better time right?
The key piece in all these looks is the amazingly wearable “Silk” black patent brogues, kindly sent to me by the team at Ziera Shoes.
You guys know I love doing this series, it’s one of my faves but at almost 40 weeks pregnant, I thought I’d recruit one of my besties to stand in for me (yes that is her cool ankle tattoo, not mine), I literally don’t have any clothes that fit so I wouldn’t do it justice haha!
PLUS, I love the idea of incorporating other women into my blogs so you can have a bit of diversity from little old me.
My amazing model Dani, is a new mum to baby Harry, is one of my BFF’s and used to be my neighbour. Her style is a little more ‘street’ than mine, so I tried to add a little more “Dani” into some of the looks!
THE LOOKS….
LOOK #1: Tutus go with everything
DANI WEARS: Asos knit jumper (similar here $83.71^) | H&M tulle skirt (similar here $69.99) | Ziera “Silk” black patent brogues $269.95 | Ginger cat not for sale
Yes you can wear flat shoes with a midi skirt! Just tuck your top in or keep it nice and neat. I love the combination of the feminine outfit and the more masculine shoes, it creates a cool contrast in style.
As the weather cools down ever more, add black opaque tights (the non-sheer ones) and a leather jacket to keep this funky style going.
LOOK #2: Work It!
DANI WEARS: Zara white blazer (similar here $139.00) | Kmart blouse (sold out) | Decjuba “Best Pants Ever” $119.95^ | Ziera “Silk” black patent brogues $269.95
These brogues really are THE perfect work shoe! They are professional and sophisticated, but ridiculously comfortable “OMG they are like walking on clouds” I’m pretty sure were Dani’s exact words when she put them on!.
I love the look of the skinny pant (with a slight bit of ankle showing) and the point of the brogue – it elongates the leg. Add some softer colours with a pastel blouse and a light-coloured blazer for a feminine and chic work look that you could totally rock for Friday night drinks too
LOOK #3: So On Trend Right Now
DANI WEARS: H&M button up blouse $14.99 (in store now) | Zara mustard linen culottes $99 | Saben Fifi (formerly Frankie) bag in black leather $389 {kindly gifted} | Ziera “Silk” black patent brogues $269.95
Mustard is having a moment right now.
Mustard + culottes? It was love at first sight for me (I’m so glad they look this awesome on Dani! She has a similar shape to me, and I bought them without trying them on in the hope they would be awesome for after baby – a gamble, but I think I won!)
I know culottes are a style of pant that scare most people, but they are such a fun alternative to skinnies, and they really do work with flats! An exposed ankle is always going to be a flattering silhouette when flat shoes are involved, so don’t worry about how tall you are, or how big your bum looks in culottes (just FYI – you can’t see it, so don’t worry about how big it looks ok?!), rock the flats with culottes and you’ll add instant style to your day!
The Brogues
So what’s so awesome about these brogues? Well as always, Ziera is great at delivering style AND comfort in the same shoe!
The leather upper makes them soft and malleable so they fit your foot shape, and the rubber sole is non-slip so you can strut your style with the confidence you won’t stack it!
One of the best features I have to say though, is the removable forefoot inserts (so a little extra bit that goes in at the front of the shoe) to change the fit if you have a slightly narrower foot – genius right?
SHOP THE SHOE: Ziera “Silk’ black patent and suede brogues $269.95
So hopefully that gives you not only an idea on what other winter shoes are out there for you besides boots or ballet flats, but some great ideas on how to style them up with your Autumn wardrobe too.
Which is your fave look? Tell me in the comments below, I don’t think I can choose!
