Breastfeeding can be a daunting task on its own! Let alone having to worry about what clothes make it possible. (Especially in that new-mumma fog that can take a while to lift…..3 years and counting haha)
I’ve breast-fed both my girls (in fact I’m still feeding Lottie) so I’ve got a bit of an insight into what works and what doesn’t when it comes to accessing the boosies.
One of the things people often say to me when they are feeding, is that they miss wearing dresses, but don’t let having to get the girls out to feed every 10 minutes stop you from wearing a frock-tastic frock!
And just to make it even easier for you, I’ve put together a list of 10 feeding-friendly dresses just in time for summer.
ALSO! Make sure to keep reading to the end, as I’ve got one of the JUST LAUNCHED Rose & Thorne leak-proof feeding bras to give away to one lucky reader!
But before we got to that, here are 10 of my fave feeding-friendly frocks you can get your hands on right now.
SHOP THE LOOKS…
1. Moolk Clothing “Eva” maxi dress $79 (aus) sizes 6 – 16
This feeding-specific label is a cult classic! Get in quick, because the best styles sell out fast!
2. Postie linen blend button through dress $39 sizes 8 – 18
Button-through linen dresses are THE dress of the season. You can pick one from most places, but this is a great piece for a great price.
3. Jericho Road Clothing “Little Lllama” shift dress $170 (aus) sizes 8-18
This Brisbane label does THE most fun prints ever! This great dress is a button-down for easy access, but can also be layered with a tee (as pictured) when you’re not feeding
4. Kmart sleeveless shirred midi dress $22 sizes 6 – 20
Simply untie the tie, and pull the top of the dress down and whip out the boob to feed! This style of dress (and other off the shoulder styles) are always over-looked, but often have the easiest access.
You could either wear a feeding bra with similar colour straps, or go for a normal strapless bra.
5. Feather & Noise “Jools” dress $89 (aus) sizes 8 -14
Same as above really, that shirred top will make boob access easier than you think.
If you prefer a little more modesty, style it with a button-up linen or denim shirt over the top for a bit more coverage.
6. Birdsnest, Belle Bird extended shoulder dress $139.95 sizes 8 – 24
Your classic button-down in a glorious colour, and midi length. This frock would be perfect for any Christmas parties or functions you are attending with the wee one in tow.
7. The Warehouse Garage button through tea dress $22 size 8 – 18
Cute, lightweight, fun for summer. Wear it to the beach, or Christmas Day, and the buttons make boob-access easy as pie!
8. Seed off the shoulder jumpsuit $159.90 sizes XS – L
Like I mentioned before, the off-the-shoulder style is one that is often overlooked when it comes to feeding. Yes, you can’t wear a feeding bra, but a normal strapless works if yours still fits.
Oh, and jumpsuits totally count as a dress š
9. Zara sequin playsuit $139 sizes XS – XL
Stay with me on this one. It might not seem like the most practical garment to breast-feed in, but the wrap top makes access simple, and it could be perfect if you have an event and you need to pump!
I’d totally wear it and feed, and maybe that’s just me, but you gotta think outside the box.
10. Little Party Dress “Frances Dress” $64.95 (aus) sizes 6 – 18 (but soon to be extended!)
I have this dress is two other versions (there are 6 or 7 prints) and it was so so useful last summer when I was feeding Lottie more. If you want some more ideas on how to style it too, check out this video on how to wear it four ways.

I like number 6! Think itās more my style and perfect for summer
Haha of course its #3 the most expensive I like but its seriously cool! Also love the jump shot idea never thought of that! Love your work Cait
haha I’m good like that too – jumpsuits are PERfect! I lived in them when on 24/7 feeding duty (now I just feed in my PJ’s haha) x
I canāt choose I have two favourites! I love number 1 the Moolk dress, the flutter sleeves are beautiful, as is the colour and the flowing design is perfect for post baby. I also love number 5 from feather and noise, obsessed with the floral print and it comes in nicely at the waist which is my smallest part. Would love to win a leak proof bra as Iām 6 months in and still having to shove a muslin down the other side when I feed as pads donāt cut it!
hahaha I feel your pain! Good luck x
Love the postie dress and the feather and noise dress, will have to get one for when number two is due next year. The dresses look so easy to breastfeed in!
I love 2 and 6. The buttons are such a gorgeous feature making them feel a little old school glam whilst also being easy to wear.
Totally agree! Love the button detail, and how good are the colours!
I love number 2 (in fact Iām off to google it now and check out the colour options). Iām breastfeeding my second son and the sudden change in temperature has made me want to have something to easily throw on that is nice and cool and that looks good for kindy drop offs. The postie dress ticks all those boxes and more.
How good is that Postie dress! they have really come to the party this summer!
I adore number 1 from Moolk, it’s very elegant and beautiful and the colour is so soft and subtle, perfect for a summer babe! I am expecting in January and would love this along with a leak proof bra to keep me feeling feminine and glam!
amazing! congrats! The whole Moolk range is divine
I love the Jericho llama dress š V neck is perfect for giant milk boobs š The print is super colourful and fun for summer, and I find prints helpful for hiding baby milk vomit!! Iād love a leak proof bra as Iām just starting my bf journey with a 2 month old Bub.
bahaha I love the print trick too š
I love #7 on behalf of my breastfeeding sister – she’s not such a long dress person but that Warehouse dress is cute, and cheap, for where she lives up in the warm North!
sounds perfect! x
Love the Moolk dress, think I might just have to treat myself for bubs due in Feb!
congrats! The whole Moolk range is amazing x
