I LOVES me a midi skirt.

And my wardrobe is full of them (and their pant-equivalent, the culotte).

Rocking the midi before I was too pregnant to fit into one!

Sadly midi skirts and baby bumps generally don’t really gel so I’ve just been looking at them, saying ‘hey’ to them, and occasionally patting them just to make sure they know they are still loved (yes, I’m that person).

BUT, that doesn’t mean I can’t share my midi skirt love with you guys, and instead of showing you how I would wear one, I’ve headed to to the good old Pinterest to gather some inspiration for you guys. PLUS I’ve put together a wee little shopping list of midi skirts you can get your hands on right now, seeing as you’ve totally got all the outfit ideas now right?

Here’s how to rock a midi!

1. Rebel With a Cause

I love mixing leather with more feminine styles and this look is right up my alley – stay tuned for lots of this in my everydaystyle outfits when bebe 2.0 is on the outside.

2. On-Trend Mustard

If you haven’t seen this colour in a store by now, I’m not sure where you are shopping it’s EVERYWHERE! And it’s a pretty cool colour. Team it back with navy/white for a classic look, or denim for a more relaxed look.

3. With A Graphic Tee

Say what you really want to say but teaming your midi skirt with a funky statement tee – you can either tuck or tie the tee to sit on the waistband of the midi skirt.

4. Go Denim!

Not all midi skirts are made the same, so why not go denim on the bottom for something a little edgier than the usual soft, pleated style.Keep the top simple and work that 70s look like nobodies business!

5. Oversize Your Knit.

This look totally bucks the trend of tucking your top into your midi. The key with this one is to elongate your legs, so add a heel (a boot will work just find) to give yourself that extra height.

6. With a Crop Top

Don’t run! You can do it! The trick is to get the crop to sit over the top of the waistband of the skirt. No tummy needs to show, it just creates a lovely waisted silhouette, trust me on this one, it works and I will be rocking it post 2 kids, so if I can, you can too!

7. Just add trainers

I LOVE the combo of a super-feminine midi skirt (like lets go full tutu) combined with a laid-back trainer, it’s a look I wear quite often (perfect for hours of shopping with personal styling clients). Just make sure your top is neat, and is tucked it to make your legs look as long as possible in flat shoes.

8. Leather Look

I love the leather jacket on top, with a softer skirt, but why not give it a go in the skirt itself too! Pair it back with a fine knit jumper, or even a denim shirt and go for gold with ankle boots, it’s a really fun winter look!

9. Tied Up

Rather than just tucking in a tee or a knit, try tying a button-up shirt or blouse at the top of the waist, just another way to put pieces in your wardrobe together you may not have thought of before.

10. Go Full Tulle!

I have several tulle tutus in my midi collection and I LOVE them! They are so much fun to wear! Pair back with something more elegant or sophisticated onto (or go slightly edgier with leather) so you don’t look like you’re playing dressups haha!
