Who doesn’t love a LBD (little black dress). Audrey Hepburn made them famous, and now everyone has at least one in their wardrobe.

They can be whipped out at any occasion, and be accessorised how YOU like, in a way that reflects your own personal style, one of the many things I love about an LBD.

I wanted to share with you 4 of the most versatile LBD’s around at the moment (well 3 LBD’s and a jumpsuit if I’m perfectly honest). I’ve added a pic of the dress on a model and then on me so you can see what it looks like on different body shapes. I’ve also included what size I’m wearing to help you with YOUR sizing.

Gorgeous Brisbane-based store (they are online too don’t you worry!) Blue Bungalow have brought our a great range of basics to help take some of the confusion out of creating your wardrobe.

This knit dress is one of the pieces they have brought in – and it’s SO comfy! It’s got enough length to be worn on its own, but you can also layer it up with tights and a long-sleeve top as it gets colder.

Blue Bungalow also has an awesome size and fit guide at the bottom of each page that helps you work out if it’s going to suit your shape or not.

2. Surafina cocoon dress $191.57

This is one of THE most comfortable dresses I own. I love the fit of it, even though it breaks ALL the rules of what my body shape “should” be wearing. Surafina is an online store with heaps of gorgeous, cool, casual pieces that are perfect for NZ and Aussie women.

This dress is so versatile, dress it up with heels, layer it up with tights, wear it in the day with flats like I am. It will work summer or winter, and it’s a ONE SIZE FITS ALL!

3. Sacha Drake convertible Catelyn Dress $279 (AUD$)

You KNOW how much I love Sacha Drake, and her little black dresses are THE best! This one, (kinda my name-sake too) is exceptional. The convertibility (is that even a word?!) of this dress is incredible! Click on the link to the dress and make sure you watch the video on how to wear it all the different ways.

The magic behind ANY Sacha Drake dress is that she designs with FIT at the number one priority, and with different body shapes in mind. The draped jersey fabric is amazing to wear, plus this dress actually comes in two pieces, there is a separate skirt you can adjust to sit at different heights.

4. Max jumpsuit approx $169.95 (sold out online but still available in store)

Now I know it’s not technically a dress, but it will do all the same things! You only have to think about putting one thing on, no tucking in, or wearing out or matching top and bottom.

I love a Max jumpsuit as they always have enough room in the body/leg, no camel-toe going on if you know what I mean!

One of the fun things about wearing black is the ability to dress is up or down with, and have fun with accessories. I’ve styled it with some fun shoes from Asos for something a bit different.
