You know me, I’m all about the versatility! So I’ve put together another little 1 item, 4 ways video for you.
This time, I’m showing you how to think outside the box a little and work a ‘summer’ dress into your winter wardrobe.
Now as is the case with most of these videos, I’m using my own clothes, but I’ve tried to re-create all of the looks for you with current season pieces, so you can replicate the looks too.
So here’s the video…
And here are how to get the four looks right now….
Layer under it…
GET THE LOOK: Little Party Dress “Eddie” dress $69.95 | Max essential layering tee $59.99 | Frankie4 Footwear NAT trainers $229.95
If it’s really cold, add another layer of merino in the form of a camisole (or make the long sleeve merino). This is a great option for an dress with a shoe-string, or thin strap. Tights and boots would work for cooler weather too.
Layer over it…
GET THE LOOK: Postie+ fluffy jumper $25 | Little Party Dress “Eddie” dress $69.95 | Merchant over the knee boots (on sale) $299.90
We don’t often think to add a jumper over a dress, but it makes so much sense in the colder months right?
The key is to find a jumper that is quite cropped so it stops around your waist, (it’s a much more flattering length). You can always fold it up under, or even use a belt under the jumper to tuck it into.
Add a short layer…
GET THE LOOK: Just Jeans ‘amaze’ trucker denim jacket $99.95 | Little Party Dress “Eddie” dress $69.95 | Mi Piaci boots (sale) $99
A cropped jacket is always a great option with a dress. It brings the eye into the waist, giving you a great silhouette, plus making your legs look longer.
Add a long layer…
GET THE LOOK: Portmans trench coat $99.95 | Little Party Dress “Eddie” dress $69.95 | Number One Shoes boots $129.99
Versatility is SO SO important to me as a personal stylist. I think it’s the key to having a wardrobe that you love, and feel is enough. It can give you unlimited options if you can see the versatility in garments.
So go and think outside the box a little with the pieces you already have. You probably have a whole bunch more options that you realise.
Until Next Time, In Style & Love Always,
Great ideas. Love how you used a video to show exactly what you mean.
