Ok, so let’s start with the obvious question – what is chambray?
So those of you who were old enough to dress yourselves in the 90’s, remember tencel? Well it’s pretty much the same thing!
Chambray is basically a soft, silky version of denim (which is just a derivative of cotton anyway). It’s a REALLY great fabric to wear in Summer because a) it breathes (cotton, remember) and b) it’s nice a lightweight but still has some of the characteristics of denim.
Usually it’s a light colour, so looks awesome with white, but can also be matched back with other denims. There is HEAPs of it around this Spring and it’s a great fabric that most people can wear (remember ladies, denim is a neutral)
Pair your chambray back with tan accessories (and a tan!) for a fresh, Spring look. Here are my top 5 picks you can get your hands on right now in fabulous chambray….

I love the shoot we did in these pants and dress because it really shows how chambray suits so many shapes, colours and sizes! The fabric is lightweight with some drape, but not clingy at all, in fact, chambray is the opposite of clingy, it just skims over your body – it really does feel lovely to wear!
One of the best things about a ‘fabric’ trend is that there is definitely something out there for everyone! So off you go, shop the chambray!
