I love a “list of 5’s” don’t you? There is more choice than just 3, but it’s not as overwhelming as 10 (the random things one thinks about when avoiding unloading the dishwasher right?).
So seeing as I love a 5-er list so much, I thought I’d put together a list of 5 of my favourite summer sandals! (one of which I’m wearing as we type – can you guess which pair? I’ll give you a hint….)
A friend recently said to me “I just don’t get sandals. I wear my jandals (thongs for you Aussies reading) or I wear closed in shoes – when does one wear sandals?” she asked.
So I went on to explain to her, for me, a sandal is a great shoe for just elevating your summer style one little bit. You can wear the same clothes (let’s say some denim shorts and a tee) but once you switch out your jandals, for some slightly classier sandals, you’ve then taken your outfit from “beach” to “cafe” appropriate attire in one simple change.
Got it? Sweet! Here are some of my picks from around the traps that you can get your twinkle toes into right now!
SHOP THE SHOES: 1. Witchery Sarina sandal $109.90 | 2. just because sandals from The Iconic $55.96 | 3. Number One Shoes Hazel leather sandals $49.99 | 4. EziBuy wrap sandals $24.99 | 5. FRANKiE4 Footwear Kat sandals in watermelon $199.95
I love all these options! The FRANKiE4 Kat sandals are doing all of the good things to my feet! (you can even win yourself a pair here) and the metallic gold of the just because slides are calling my name.
A great pair of sandals will pretty much work with ANY outfit – from a summer maxi, to jeans and a tee or shorts and a singlet. You can never have too may sandals I say!
What say you?
Cate, question – how can a curvy girl (Pear shape/Hour glass) wear skinny jeans?
love your blog
I Susan! Just put one leg in, then the other leg in 😉
no really, skinny jeans are great for ALL shapes! I’m a curvy hourglass and I wear them all the time.
If you don’t want to wear them with heels, then just roll up the bottoms slightly to expose your ankle – (no it won’t make you look shorter) it makes your whole leg look skinnier by drawing attention to the smallest part of your leg.
The top you wear pays a part too. Stop wearing long tops trying to cover your hips and bum! Embrace your curves and wear a top that shows off your waist on top – it’s all about distraction remember.
And if in doubt, start with a darker denim. Also, if you are shorter is stature, try a pair of 7/8 or cropped jeans, they will actually be more like full length on you so work perfectly!
Hope that helps x
you are an angel
