I love to make a statement. Ain’t no shrinking violet over here.

I also like not to have to spend huge amounts of money on making said statement.

Here’s the breakdown!

Add a colourful scarf to any plain outfit. It’s the easiest way to dress up a plain black dress, or a white tee and jeans. It’s the kind of thing that can just live in your handbag and you throw on when you need a bit more statement in your life.

Not all statement necklaces have to be bright pink (although, in my world the are haha!). I love that the one I’ve mentioned above is black, it can be used as either a highlight piece, wearing it against white or anther light colour, or as a subtle statement, by wearing it over black or a print.

If all else fails, make sure you have fabulous lashes! I always feel more awake and alive when I have some umph! to mine and this is the best mascara I’ve ever found for adding extra umph! BUT if that’s not enough, a pop of colourful lipstick always does the job. In times of recession or financial strain, the sales of lipstick always skyrocket! A lippy is a little treat, that won’t break the bank but can make a huge impact on how a woman feels.

If a statement necklace isn’t your thing (or if you’re me and the neckline of what you’re wearing doesn’t lend itself to a dramatic necklace) then why not try a statement earring. I love how much power something so little has to completely change an outfit, to finish it off. Accessories for me are the ribbon on the bow, they seem to complete it somehow.
