Home now! Fine, sunny, mild Auckland has opened it’s arms… wait, what? It’s going to bucket down all week? With winds strong enough to blow my house down? Super. No, really – it’s awesome to be home (if only for a week – more on that later) but I had an amazing time in Brisbane visiting friends and family, and taking part in Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane.

Here is the wrap up of the rest of the week!

Tuesday – this was a fashion-free day! I spent time with friends and family…. oh and lining up a job in Sydney for a month! Yes that’s right all you Sacha Drake fans, I’m head back across the ditch to open up the newest Sacha Drake Boutique in Queen Street Woollahra! Too excited!!

It’s a QLD invasion! Queen Street Woollahra here we come!

Here is a sneak peek of some of the amaze-balls frocks that will be in store….

I also had to write a little blog update…. and I managed to find myself a very good little bloggy helper….. she likes helping…..

My favourite little helper

Wednesday!

Well today was the biggy! The rescheduled MBFF Group Show featuring Trelise Cooper was tonight and I had all day to get nervous….. so I decided bubbles were called for! My girlfriend and I hit an amazing little gem of a bar called Super Whatnot (click here to check out the website, if you are in Brisbane, it’s a MUST VISIT!)

Afternoon bubbles? Don’t mind if I do!

  SHOWTIME!

Ok, here is what I came over for, it’s showtime! Backstage was mental (as always at any fashion show) but is one of the most fun things about the fashion industry for me! Being backstage in all the hectic, craziness of frocks and shoes and models (or what we call ‘mod-uels’ in the fash pack darling, isn’t that right Dr Chong?). It was all a little too much to do in heels, so I pulled out the next best thing – sequined flats! (These came from Seed Heritage… there are still VERY limited pairs available online, on sale for $49.95 AUDS –click here!)

LOVES my sparkle shoes!!

Here are the real stars of the show…… my amazing models in the gorgeous Spring range from Trelise Cooper – amazing colours, shapes and the shoes….. oh the shoes!!!!

The calm before the storm…….

The ‘mod-ules’ strutting their stuff looking amazing

Phew! Man was I glad that was over! There may have been a slight shoe malfunction (read: one of the poor “mod-ules” may have fallen slightly) and one of the other said “mod-ules” may have held onto her dress all the way down the runway (LET GO OF THE DRESS!! IF I CAN WALK IN IT, YOU CAN!!) but from all reports (thanks Mum and Aunty Kath) a good show!

Thursday

Another day of fashion with another group show – this show featured some amazing Brisbane and Gold Coast designers Surafina and Lisa Brown – both worth checking out if you are in the Sunshine State!

Surafina rocking the runway! My kinda fashion!

Outfit selection was starting to be based on comfort more and more as the week went on – although these shoes (in hindsight) were probably one of the LEAST comfortable pairs of shoes I own…. I’m just getting too old for heels this high!

Chloe the Cat always love to be a part of the action – she couldn’t pass up an opportunity to be in on all the posing!

Chloe the Cat getting in on the action (I’m wearing a Zara blazer, pants from bohoo.com, top from Big W, clutch from Portmans and shoes from Wittner if you are playing along at home)

Friday – the final day (and night)

Wrap party and highlights parade – time for those who worked hard and fast all week to let their hair down and relax! There was a parade of all the key pieces from the festival shows (including two Trelise Cooper pieces)…. and it was also the perfect excuse to wear my SEQUIN PANTS!!!!!!

One does not often get the chance to war one’s favourite sequin pants… one was VERY excited to have the opportunity

If you ask me, my pants were the highlight of the evening but apparently there were some other frocks on show that people seemed to be more interested in (don’t know why – SEQUIN PANTS PEOPLE!!!)

The Trelise Cooper highlight pieces

Snap snap!

So I’m back in sunny warm (ha!) Auckland for just over a week before I’m back in Sydney for the next exciting adventure! It’s NZ fashion week this week but I’m just having some R ‘n’ R before the madness and excitement that will be Sacha Drake Woollahra!

Thanks for reading about my metal week in Brisbane! It was amazing – great fashion, awesome friends and I got to cuddle about 17 babies!!! (Would you all stop reproducing please?? Otherwise I’ll want one!)

See you soon chasers!
