I LOVE this time of year – it means Spring Racing!
Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m not really fussed if I see a horse or not, and I always put a fiver on the one wearing the pink kit, but that’s about the extent of my participation in the ACTUAL racing.
I’m ALL about the frocks! I mean, when else do you get to match your shoes to your purse and stick a bunch of feathers on your head!
So maybe you’re not in Melbourne, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still enjoy the day!
WIN TICKETS TO MELBOURNE CUP IN AUCKLAND
Thanks to Ellerslie Racecourse, I have THREE double passes to the Jacobs Creek Sparkling Garden Party at The Sofitel Luxury Hotels Melbourne Cup Day event, at Ellerslie Race Course THIS TUESDAY, Nov 3rd, valued at $120 each!
All you have to do is tell me in the comments below, which of the three looks below is your favourite and why. (all the amazing clothes were supplied by the amazing team at Flo & Frankie btw).
ts&cs below.
Here are three different looks I put together for you.
Sleek & Modern – The Jumpsuit
Jumpsuit: Keepsake jumpsuit from Flo & Frankie $215 | Equip fascinator (in stores now) | shoes and clutch from my wardrobe.
Races doesn’t ALWAYS mean dresses, so if you want to try something different, why not try a jumpsuit? I love the colour and the simple lines of this one from the amazing team at Flo & Frankie (make sure you go see them for all your race-day needs!). Team it back with accessories that suit your own style and you’ll be the best dressed filly for sure!
Classic Racewear – Bright and Bold
Dress: Cooper St from Flo & Frankie $229 | Equip Fascinator (in stores now) | Shoes and clutch are from my own wardrobe.
This look is a classic races look. Bright and bold, with complimentary accessories. Whether you’re heading to the track, or a fancy event (like ours!) this look will have you covered.
Derby Day – Black and White
Top & Skirt: Flo & Frankie (available in store now) | Scarf Queen fascinator | shoes and clutch are from my own wardrobe
Traditionally, Derby Day (the Saturday before the Melbourne Cup in Aus, or Sat March 5th next year for Auckland Cup) is all about black and white. This top and skirt combo gives a feminine silhouette and the bold stripe creates some interest.
A HUGE thanks to the team behind this shoot! I did NOT wake up like this, for shiz!

That’s why i love it too Judith!
Hands down the jump suit! Apart from being chic, elegant and so on trend the neckline and and tucked waist is super flattering! How gorgeous is the matching head gear too?! It oozes confidence and is a piece you can also wear again and again. What a fabulous investment! Have fun! X
It sure is – thats exactly what I love about a jumpsuit too!
Love the black and white combo! But that jumpsuit is a must need outfit!! 🙂
I agree whole-heartedly Holly! x
Love the black and white. Surprised it was a skirt and top. Looks fabulous and Classic. You always look amazing!
thanks Karen! Yes i tucked the peplum top into the skirt to give it the dress effect x
Like everyone else, I love all the outfits on you Caitlin. And the jumpsuit is a lovely twist on formal race wear. But my favourite would have to be the third one, the beautiful black and white dress. It’s such a classic and would be a wardrobe go-to for years – for race day, weddings or any other special occasion. But most of all, it is so appropriate for this weekend…go the All Blacks!! (Sorry…know you’re probably a Wallabies fan!!)
haha funny! I LOVED wearing the black and white one, I felt so glamorous in it – and we’ll see who the victor is tomorrow….. xx
So since the ABs won, does it mean I win too?? (Pleeease!!!!) xx
