I have to say, watching red carpets has to be one of the worst parts of my job….. kidding!!!! I love a good frock at the best of times, but this is what frocking up is all about – I mean, if you can’t wear an amazing dress on the Oscars red carpet, then when can you wear it!

But this post is all about today! Here are my faves!
Bling it on.
Embellishment is always big on the red carpet, but this year it seemed to be bigger than ever! There were so many great frocks to choose from – here’s a few that did it well:
Stacey Keibler, Nicole Kidman and J-Hud thought they would bring the bling
Sandra Bullock, Catherine Zeta Jones and Halle Berry (getting it right for once!) all rocking the beaded bling!
Pale and pretty.
Lots of pale colour (and pale skin – tans are so 2010 apparently) on the carpet this year. Jennifer Lawrence looks like a winner already in her amazing Dior Haute Couture (which she still struggles to say every time – cute!).

Colour pop!
Not a huge amount of colour on the red carpet this year with black, bling and pale frocks dominating the frock selection. Colour is always fun on the red carpet so here are the stand outs for 2013.
Maria Menounos, Reese Witherspoon and Oliva Munn were amongst the brave few to wear colour this year
Honourable mentions:
Just between you and me, am totally crushing on Reese Witherspoon’s voluminous hair (even The Boy commented on it!)
and Jennifer Lawrence’s makeup – flawless…..
But as amazing as all the girls previously mentioned looked – there are two notable exceptions – my TWO (yes, two – I couldn’t choose ok?!) My equal best dressed winner are…….
Naomi Watts in Armani Prive – this dress is like NOTHING else we saw on the carpet. Apparently they started planning this dress months ago at the Golden Globes! She never gets it wrong on the carpet, but she has hit it out of the park on this one.
Charlize Theron in Dior. She is the face of Dior so it was no secret what label she was going to wear – but this is up there with my all time fave Gwyneth Paltrow wearing Tom Ford in 2010.
Sleek, elegant and sophisticated – nobody but Charlize could pull this off! That dancers body is amazing, and the peplum and neck detail really give her curves in all the right places….. I’ve still got goosebumps!
