Yes, I give out style advice.

Yes, I talk about body shape, and colour, and things that will “flatter” your body.

Yes, I recommend certain clothes over other.

and yes, I still believe that leggings are not pants.

But get what, there really is only ONE fashion rule that counts.

I’ve been at Shore City this week in the Stylist’s Wardrobe, meeting heaps of amazing women all day and talking to them about their style.

One of the most common things that people are saying to me goes something like this…. “I wore a (insert cool garment here) and my husband/son/daughter/sister/etc didn’t like it.

Well guess what, who f*$king cares what they think??!!

Yup. it’s a simple as that. If YOU think that you look good in something, they who is anyone else to tell otherwise? It’s your body, it’s your style, and it’s your life!

Now I know that must seem a little ironic, coming from the personal stylist, but let me tell you about where I come into the scenario ….

I’m here to give you advice and guidance if;

• you aren’t sure what to wear
• you don’t know where to find what you are looking for
• you’re not sure what shapes, cuts, colours etc suit you
• you want me help.

I’m never going to push my opinion on you if you don’t want it. And that’s all it is, an opinion. (a hard-earned, years of experience-gathering, expert opinion, but an opinion all the same.)

Saying that, I WILL talk about body shape, colour and fit. Knowing these things can help you FILTER when you shop. If you know that defining your waist will flatter your Hourglass shape, then this will help you when you look for jackets that are going to make you look good, and therefore feel good.

But enough about me, this is about YOU!

Fashion and style should be fun! It’s SUCH a cool way to express who you are! So why would you let anybody else negatively dictate that? Why would you put someone else’s opinion over you own?

So what is the takeaway from this post? If you love it, wear it! What someone else thinks of your outfit is actually none of your business, it’s only their opinion, so don’t worry about it ok?
