No don’t go running away at the sound of “body-con”. Am I really going to point you in the direction of something that isn’t going to look SMOKIN’ on you? No!
This great little dress comes in several colours and textures and is just perfect for throwing on for almost an occasion!
I have it in two colours, and have a list of about 6 more that I want! (they keep bringing out new ones damn it!)

Why I love it.:
Yes it is fitted, but if a girl can’t show off her curves then what is this world coming to?? I love the striped and textured styles as they provide a little bit of camouflage where needed and I do pull out the seamless undies (not a pair of Spanx in sight though!).
I love the stretch, I love the comfort (I even worn mine on the plane back to Aussie). The length works with a heel or a flat, the style can be dressed up or down for day or night, there is so much VERSATILITY in this dress you can’t really go wrong.
I’m wearing an M and it runs from a XXS to an XL so there is a great size run there! It’s a great dress for a great price so make sure you pop into a CottonOn and give it a go this weekend!
Let me know if you have any questions about styling it for your shape and size in the comments below! I’d love to help out

Ok I did it, I bought the black with the ruching to one hip. I’m a 12 on top and a 12-14 on the bottom but omg the shape is NOT ok 😩 Saddlebags and Bodycon do not a good look make. Do I have to break out the spanx (in this humidity, could be a health hazard!), or are there other ways to minimise the ‘wide load’ look? Love your work cait, this is the third thing I’ve bought after reading you!! X
Oh hey! ok, so a couple of things (and no! don’t wear spanx if you don’t want to!)
try the old shirt-around-the-waist trick like I do to give you some camouflage, OR draw ALL the focus back up to the top half of your body with an amazing statement necklace! no one will even be looking down south!
Also, try heels or wedges just to give your whole body a lift and lengthen (trust me, it totally works!)
I’m sure you actually look amazing in it! xx
This might be just what I need. Can you wear a normal bra under it? Looks a bit racer back ish. Also is your leather jacket the navy one from Alannah Hill? Debating purchasing.(if they even have my size left!)
Hey Annabel! I do just wear a normal bra under it and tuck the straps a little 🙂
My leather jacket is from an Aussie brand called Samvara and is about 10 years old but the Alannah Hill one sounds divine!! x
I trust you about this dress and I am going to try this dress as seeing that I bought those skinny jeans (me a curvy girl) and I am rocking the look if I do say so myself!
Hi Cait,
I was popping on to find a blog about skirts (wanted one for trans seasonal travel coming up that could be dressed up or down) as I really have trouble finding a good fit, always to big on the waist if it fits over my hips or makes me feel really wide but I am guessing a dress like this might give me just as much versatility?
oh yay!
that is TOTALLY me too with dresses like this quite often. I LOVE this one because it actually fits my waist, and then skims over my thighs 🙂 its perfect for travel too – I would definitely give it a go 🙂
Okay, I might put your styling prowess to the test here! Size 18-20 with a fair bit of tummy. Would love a dress like this for the warm days at work, my workplace is fairly casual but I’d still like to keep it professional and sharp looking. What’s your advice? Thanks 🙂
haha let’s see what we can do!
first of all, I would find an awesome fitted jacket that has some sort of waterfall from to to give your tummy a bit of camouflage 😉 Plus the blazer adds the sharpness. also add a heel of some sort, even just a small heel -which again will keep it more profesh. Go for one of the textured of print styles (or even black) to make it seem that little bit smarter
Hope that helps? xx
Awesome! I have a really nice blazer that would work. And for that price, you can’t really go wrong can you? Will have to go and check them out. Thanks!
