Now we all know how I love supporting my local Australian and New Zealand labels and this beautiful label is no exception. Introducing: Leona Edmiston.

Now if you live in Australia, you’ve most probably heard of the label, and the fabulous lady behind the label, already, but it might be new to you Kiwi loves reading this.

In 2001 Leona successfully launched her solo eponymous label (after almost 20 years in the industry already). ‘Leona Edmiston’ is a tribute to the dress in all its incarnations. A Leona Edmiston Frock is elegant, versatile and ageless, as is Leona herself.

At the VIP Spring/Summer Launch in Brisbane’s Queens Plaza flagship Leona Edmiston store will some of the gorgeous staff, and meeting the lovely lady herself (yes that’s my back…)

A quick chat with Leona at the VIP Spring/Summer launch and already I knew she was a designer that REALLY thinks about the women she designs for. In fact when I asked her where her inspiration comes from, she informed me it was straight from the shop floor – she loves meeting and talking to her customers and hearing what they think of her frocks.

Leona loves designing flattering shapes in bold colours and prints, and will not often follow trends, she’d rather stay true to her own shape and style.

Sourcing prints from all over the globe, Leona uses a variety of fabrics from her signature sleek jersey to soft luxurious silks and crisps cottons. Prints and colour blocks are a favourite. The fabrics compliment the style and flattering cuts of the Frocks (I love that they call all the dresses FROCKS), and the prints bring them to life – they allow for confidence during the day and sheer elegance during the evening.

Leona Edmiston’s success has seen the label extend into ‘Leona Edmiston Ruby’ a diffusion collection, ‘Little Leona’ for the little ladies and has fuelled accessories collections including Eyewear, Sunglasses, Jewellery, Footwear, Handbags & Purses, Sleepwear, Leona Edmiston PINS, Candles as well as a range of Homewares designed exclusively for Myer! Phew! That is one busy lady!

Now her amazing frocks are available from her Flagship Boutiques, Vintage stores and Myer concessions in Aus, and also on her ONLINE STORE for all of us living in NZ!
