I’m sitting here in Brisbane, about to tell you about another amazing Brisbane label I love, after spending the morning out and about enjoying Brisbane’s vibrant shopping scene…. kinda makes me nostalgic to move back here……
(don’t worry kiwi’s – not happening)
BUT, it does feel like the right time to share with you another awesome Aussie label, Maiocchi (and also give you a chance to WIN your very own Maiocchi dress).
Started in 2001 by gorgeous gal Deanne Maiocchi, the brand was born out of a frustration that Dee couldn’t find clothes thatĀ she wanted to wear. Turns out she had the formula right, because almost 17 years later, the label is growing stronger than ever!
The brand is a quirky mix of vintage and retro styles with a little Japanese inspiration thrown in – and it’s still all designed and manufactured in Brisbane! (I love that!).
I also really love Maiocchi’s “Hello Beautiful Campaign” – sharing their clothes on everyday women of all different shapes and sizes. I know this is something we are seeing a lot more of now, but Dee and them team at Maiocchi originally started this concept in 2013 so it’s great to see it back now!
So when Dee and the team asked if the could send me one of their gorgeous dresses, and threw a “mini” version (well the print is the same, just on a different colour) into the parcel for Emmie too, I couldn’t wait to show you guys this fabulous style…. and you may recognise a familiar friend in the print haha….
I’m wearing: Make A Splash Dress in Black $275 (AUD)
Emmie is wearing: Mini Maiocchi flamingo dress in scarlett $45 (AUD)
(both frocks kindly gifted)
I love this dress for so many reasons (apart from the obvious flamingo-ness!). The fabric is supportive and flows over all the right places (including a 20-week baby-bump!), there is a stretch section at the back of the bodice that allows for different fits through the bust, oh and it has POCKETS!
TIME TO WIN!
Love it too? Well this is your chance to WIN a Maiocchi dress of your very own! Just pop over to the Maiocchi website, have a look around, then come back and tell me which is your favourite piece and why! My favourite entry will WIN a piece of their choice.
And if you JUST NEED A MAIOCCHI DRESS RIGHT NOW, I also have a free shipping code for all purchases over $300 (AUD). Simply use the code: NZ300 at the checkout.
Good luck with the comp – T’s & C’s below

You look gorgeous! I love a mother-daughter matchy-matchy look thatās not too matchy-matchy.
The Sink or Swim dress in black first caught my eye earlier this year. I got the Dotty Reversible dress in blue instead (and love it!) but am super keen to add another Maiocchi masterpiece to my collection!
My absolute favourite is the anchors away dress!! I’m a sucker for a cute print and these dresses look so comfortable, easy to wear, yet stylish!!
I have all the heart eyes for Flamingo a gogo!! This mumma feels like a drabby, crabby mess post having baby number two 8 months ago….and my gosh would I feel a little more beautiful, a little less mess, a little more ME in this pretty dress! This mumma has got to get rid of the uniform of striped tops! Please!!
It’s Ring a Rosie for me! I love the hearts, the vibrant colour…and the versatile style. I’d wear it to work or with jsndals at the lake. Love, love, love.
Up,up and away dress looks like lots of fun,
An amazing colour to wear while out in the sun.
I have the perfect shoes and hat
I would love to win one of these beautiful dresses to match.
Ooh so many lovely dresses it was harx to chose a fav. I loved the flamingo dress u are wearing especially with the matching dress fir yoyr little girl. I think my fav was the Gone Troppo in Melon. I loved the square neck line (suits a larger bust -like me), the knee length, the cute pockets but most of all the fun fabric. It looks like a dress that would make you look and feel fabulous!
I have to say I love nearly all of them! But as I am trying to adopt a more minimalist lifestyle including my wardrobe, the reversible dress in navy would be amazing. I love how versatile this piece would be and the fact itās made of an eco friendly, sustainable fabric. Thanks for sharing this label, Iām a fan!
I just love the make a splash dress in black! The notch neckline is so flattering and the black with a splash of bright is such a great colour for so many different occasions… love the gorgeous prints, second choice is definitely the sunset dress š
I love the flamingo go go dress in black, coz itās gorgeous!! Gotta love dressesš that embrace curves and that donāt look Iām wearing a sack!
I also adore the make a splash dress. Love the bra friendly straps, the a line shirt and pockets for little peopleās treasure. Even better that my little person can match mummy. So much fun for summer, but will also look great with a cardi in winter
If you’d ever asked me if I’d like a flamingo dress…I’m pretty sure I would have said “No” but the Make a Splash dress in black is amazing. It looks fun and flattering and I love that they offer different models pictures to show how it might look on me – I’m struggling to find anything in my wardrobe that I feel good in right now so maybe I just need some new things that fit better! I am so tired of waiting to fit back into my old stuff – 3 babies definitely redistributes a few things!
I really love the ring of rosies colour me in dress as over 50’s is a bit of a challenge sometimes..you don’t like to look like a mutton dressed as lamb…I really like to wear a dress especially in summer to stay cool & I like the way this dress sits as well as the beautiful pattern on the fabric. Loving the Maiocchi dress style šššThanks Chaising Cait š
Flamingo a go go dress in Black x
Oh my the frocks!!! So amazing. I love The Frill of It. Iām super self conscious about my arms after pregnancy no 2 and this would be the perfect frock to wear to my sister-in-lawās wedding in January.
I love the Oops a Daisy dress in black! I have a wedding to go to in March and in a sea of boring I would like to be a little bit different. I think the Oops a Daisy dress fits the bill nicely. I am also a size 14 with plenty of curves and want something that makes me look knock-out not ho-hum. š
Cait you rock the Make a Splash Dress in Black – I couldn’t resist this style as well. I’m a pear shape with a bump, not a baby bump, a CHOCOLATE bump!!! I always find it difficult finding dresses: to fit my larger bust, tiny waist, larger hips and knee length. I see the model Stace is my height so how amazing, it was like this dress was made for me. Flattering over the tummy, accentuates the waist, stretchy back, knee length and you can hide wearing a standard bra plus the funky flamingo’s are in my favourite colour fusia pink ššššš»
Loving the Ring a Rosie dress! So bright for summer. There were too many to choose from. What a gorgeous range. The accessories are awesome too. I spied the perfect secret Santa gift, yay.
I loved soooo many. But the Flamingo A Go Go in fusha or black were my favs. Love the length and cut as think it will suit my body shape…covers all the bits I hate!
LOVE the frill of it dress in black – all of the things, synced waist with tie for a sweet tummy flatter, off the shoulder look but WITH straps so it doesn’t fall down plus a super gorgeous fabric that you could easily dress up with some sassy heels or play it casual with sandals or sneakers *mega swoon*
Gotta be mingos too! š
Make a Splash dress is so gorgoeus!
I love the print and it looks fab!
Hx
My fav is the bloom with a view dress – so cute and love how the pleats are along the front and back. Great neckline for me as I like to hide that area a bit on myself.

Perfect for summer š
I love the flamingo a go go dress in black ā¤ļø I too have a love of flamingos (much to my husbands disgust š), and Iām also pregnant and struggling to find cute dresses that fit. This one looks perfect!
Hi Cait,
After seeing your posts as ‘suggested posts’ on Facebook (as friends were following your page), I had a nosey one day and loved your blog so much I started following you myself. Am stoked to find out you’re pregnant (yay! congrats!) because … I am too! You’re two weeks ahead of me, so I’m finding it extremely interesting seeing how you’re dressing for the growing bump (I’m only just starting to show because I was soooooo ridiculously sick until now – celebrating 10 days in a row puke free! Wahoo!).
Now, onto the Maiocchi; even with looking through everything on the website, I keep coming back to the dress you’re wearing in the blog – Make a Splash (black). Like you, I LOVE flamingos (I have a pink plastic flamingo in my garden that I’ve had for about 10 years – her name is Flossie; also, I was in Tanzania in January of this year and my favourite part was seeing a flock of flamingos all pink on a lake!) The other thing with the dress is, at the moment, I’m a bit dubious about ‘normal’ clothes, as I think “but how would that look/fit with a growing bump?” With this dress, you’ve shown that not only would it fit, but that it looks blimmin’ amazing.
Thanks,
Maria
oh yay!!! I’m so glad you love the blogs and congrats on being pregnant too!
I’m trying to wear as many “normal” clothes as I can so definitely stay tuned haha
And good luck in the comp x
