I’m a massive fan of supporting local fashion (Sacha Drake anyone?), so when I discover a new local label I always get super-excited! I wanted to share with you a label that I came across a little while ago – Erina Emery.

Erina is actually the sister of a friend of The Boy (follow that? good old NZ, two degrees of separation hey!). Her sister mentioned the brand to me a little while back, and whilst its been on my radar for a bit, it’s really made its mark on me with the awesome new Winter collection.

Erina describes the label as an easy-to-wear look for women who want a bit of style in their lives, but want it to be easy to fit into their busy lives! With wash-and-wear fabrics, and simple shapes that can be dressed up or down, I think she nails it! My faves are the amazing dresses (but I AM a dress girl) they fit SO well, and are so versatile (look out for a couple of posts to come on how to do Day-to-Night featuring Erina Emery).

The lovely Erina was kind enough to let me play with a few pieces from the upcoming winter collection. All of these pieces are available to order from March 14th 2014 (see the details below)

A different way of selling

One of the things that stood out for me when talking to Erina, was the way she sells the label.

She has ‘agents’ all around Auckland (more to come around the rest of NZ shortly!). These agents hold showings of the new range in their homes, where you can attend, and see the whole collection, in ALL the sizes (8-14) and try on the pieces you like.

You then place your order with the agent (kinda like a Tupperware party, or Intimo night) and the brand new stock is delivered to you within 4-6 weeks (once it’s made).

This process allows Erina to keep her prices amazingly affordable (only two pieces are just over $200, everything else is less!), as she is selling directly to her buyer (cutting out the middle man) AND she is making to order, so there are no leftovers.

There are only TWO seasons at the moment, Winter and Summer, and Winter is about to start selling on FRIDAY MARCH 14th 2014. Anyone is welcome at the selling dates, you just need to contact Erina through the website to attend. For more info CLICK HERE
