Well according to denim experts Jeanswest they are and who am I to argue – but no, really. I’m not a jeans girl – I’m still learning to love how my legs look in jeans – I’d much rather wear a dress most days of the week.
HOWEVER, when the gorgeous team at Jeanswest sent me a pair of their new Prima collection jeans to try, I wasn’t go to say no. (in fact I was magically waiting for my legs to turn into Jennifer Hawkins’, but alas no, they still look like mine… just in really nice jeans haha!)
So what’s the big deal?
Here’s what Jeanswest are saying about them:
Made from the highest quality premium Turkish denim in a power stretch cotton blend, Prima Jeans are soft and silky to touch with amazing recovery to keep you feeling comfortable and looking great, whatever you get up to.
Designed to fit like a second skin, Prima Denim won’t lose its shape and slims the legs for a sleek, sexy silhouette that is bound to turn heads.
The collection is made to fit and flatter women of all shapes and sizes with four skinny styles to choose from as well as Curve Embracer fits designed for women with an hourglass shape to hug the hips and thighs in all the right places
Are the for real?
As far as I can tell, yes! As soon as I put them on, I was surprised at how soft and stretchy they were. I’ve already worn them two days in a row, and they are still in as good a nick as when I got them (no awkward baggy knees to be seen!)
I got the  “Karrie” 7/8 jeans in theCurve Embracer (which is specifically designed to fit over bums and hips, but then hug around the waist – no more waist gape woot woot!), but there are also  other styles so it depends on the colour and length you’re after as to which one is best.
I love the wash of the Karrie style – so good for daytime, but will translate to something a little more dressy at night. I can’t get over how soft they are! I know I just said it, but none of this cardboard, stiff-feeling denim. They feel like you are wearing your pj’s.
They have a small, wee zip up the side of the legs and sit just on the ankle-skimming length on me – I am pretty tall remember, so keep that in mind if you are buying online.
But the best bit for me? The rise is high! They come right up and over that glorious blub blub on the side of your hips (you know what I’m talking about right?!) well wait, let me show you…. Now I don’t get my tummy out for ANYONE, but seeing as you and I are tight, I’ll show you, just to prove how flattering these puppies are!
Wow! That’s confronting seeing your tummy like that haha!
Anyway! See the things I do to find you the best jeans??
Sizing: I recommend going down a size as they have HEAPS of stretch in them. Generally as a rule when I’m buying jeans with personal styling clients I make sure they get them so they can JUST do them up – so make sure you do they same –  I PROMISE they will stretch to fit you. Stylist’s honor.
All the important stuff

Until Next Time,
In Love & Style (and now, it appears, jeans) always
So glad I read this review, just bought some primas and they’re pretty tight around the waist, not what I would describe as very comfy like leggings! Other reviews recommend buying true to size not tight as this fabric doesn’t stretch as normal denim. I’m going to trust in your advice and keep them and hope they get a bit more comfy around the waist.
Hey Alex, stick with them! I found the fabric stretched MORE than usual denim…..
I hate my legs in jeans too ughhh BUT loving your #lovemeforme campaign and this review was fantastic. I definitely have a curvy body type so all about the curve jeans and high waisted as I am short and need the extra length. Great post and you should ear jeans more offten 🙂
thanks lovely! I’m sure you look gorgeous in jeans 😉 xx
I cannot WAIT to try these! Curve embracer!? Yes please! I too am a high-waisted gal every day of the week (or every casual Friday as it may be) – it’s the only way to go. Super review Cait! x
haha I know, how awesome are the Curve Embracers – let me know how you like them x
Tried them, LOVED THEM, bought them!! Total denim success. I got the 7/8 style too, though I can see myself going back for the full length! Like you suggested, I went down a size – it was definitely the right call. Finding jeans for curves that don’t gape at the waist is, nay WAS an impossible task! Super Sublime Find! x
Woot woot!!! so happy that you love them! xx
Thanks for sharing, I like the sound of these…especially the part where they hold in the Blub Blub!!!! ha ha ha. I will definitely be trying some of these on when I find a Jeans West next!!
haha yep it’s all about holding in the blub blub right 😉
You are so gorgeous!
I love jeans but hate jeans shopping, you just made my life a thousands times easier. xxx
thanks lovely!! So glad I could make it easier – I hate jeans shopping too, so now I just head straight to Jeanswest haha x
I take my clients shopping at Just Jeans to get that ‘perfect’ fit too! They have such a huge range for all different body shapes and leg lengths. I’m amazed how many people are unaware of this.
From one personal stylist to another, great work Caitlin x
thanks Hayley! Just Jeans are great too – and you are so right! People are so surprised that you can get amazing fitting jeans without spending $$$
x
They look awesome! You should definitely wear jeans more often. I love the high waist, I might have to hunt a pair down for winter. Rachel x
Oh thanks lady xx They will be PERFECT for a QLD winter x
I usually despise going jeans shopping and hate the way they look on me but I can’t wait to go and try these on next week! I have a long body and long legs so hopefully I will find a pair to fit! Thanks for sharing!!! X
Oh gosh, me too! They will be perfect for you x
They look fab on you -Sadly I’m a bit shorter : ( 5 ft 4, and seeing as these have ankle zips they couldn’t be taken up – would you still recommend them?
Hey Lisa, there are a few other styles that don’t have the zips on the bottom so you should be all good! The ones I’m wearing are also only a 7/8 so they are worth trying as on you, they might just look like regular full length jeans 🙂
Hi Lisa,
I tried these jeans on today and I absolutely LOVED them! I bought the Ilisa style (full-length) and my sister bought the Karrie style. I was umming and ahhing over which one to buy because I love them all! In terms of length, the 7/8 length was absolutely fine on me. I’m also about 5ft 4in (165cm) with short legs and a long torso. These fit me as almost a full length with no taking up required. The full-length style is way too long on me and I will need to take them up, I just preferred the wash.
Hope this helps!
thanks for the 5ft 4in advice Katrina! Good to know the 7/8th will be ok if you are slightly vetically challenged 😉 xx
hot, Hot, HOT! Looking absolutely smokin’ in those jeans and I’ll defs be checking out the range in my local Jeanswest store. x
