You know when you find something really fab but you almost don’t want to tell anyone because you don’t want to share?

That’s a little how I feel about this gorgeous NZ label, Libertine (and it’s sister label, Tantrum).

But as soon as I laid eyes on these gorgeous garments, and had a dress-up session at Libertine HQ with designer Lissette Mayson, I KNEW I had to share it with you!

The thing that appealed to me (and I know you will love too) is the lightness, and easy fit of these gorgeous, NZ-designed garments.

GET THE LOOK: Libertine “Bloom” shirt RRP $149 | Tencel cargos in white RRP $139

The fabrics are a dream to wear, and with summer coming up, I have good news ladies – these clothes breathe! This fab “Bloom” shirt is 100% cotton, and the drape pants are tencel (soooooo soft to wear).

A large pleat falls from the center front of the garment, allowing it to skim over the tummy area, and the splits give it a point of difference (it’s definitely not just another tunic top.)

You can even wear it as a dress! Just add a pretty slip underneath (one that you don’t mind poking out the sides) and add your fave summer shoes and you’re ready to go (great one for taking away as it does double duty right?)

Lissette describes her style as “an easy fit”, designed with the intention to fit different shapes and sizes. In fact, I sized down in most of the tops to a size 10 (mostly because I like a slightly more fitted silhouette) and wore my usual size 12 in the pants.

You could see the easy fit design in all of the gorgeous garments I got to play with. The drape and softness in tops, dresses and pants is evident as soon as you put them on.

SHOP THE TOP: Libertine “Black Orchid” Blouse RRP $149

The fabric is this fab top is something special!  The combination of rayon and elastane means it feels like a cotton, wont crease AND it’s got stretch in it! The neon embellishment adds a fun summer pop and you could have fun mixing and matching it back with some neon accessories.

The cut of this lovely top means it can be worn out over a skinny pant, or tucked into something looser, like the soft tencel cargos in white, or these cool cross-print ones in denim…..

SHOP THE PANTS: Libertine Cross Print Cargos RRP $139

I LOVE the fit of these – they are a great alternative to jeans in summer, due to the lightweight cotton. The taper at the ankle is flattering on any leg, but my favourite feature of these pants is the waist band. It’s a flat fit across the tummy, with an elastic stretch waist around the back.

Basically this means that these pants fit to your body rather than you having to fit into them! It’s nice to have a little leeway right?

Now it’s frock -time! I was especially excited when Lissette pulled out this little beauty… the perfect Christmas Day dress wouldn’t you agree?

SHOP THE FROCK: Libertine “Sangria” Dress RRP $159

The detail in the trim on this dress is divine, with the metal and cotton eyelet trim feeling like a Christmas Tree trimming. It also gives some weight to the lovely lightness of the rayon fabric (which again means easy care, and breathable in those hot summer months).

Because it’s rayon, it’s light enough to just skim your body in all the right places, but there’s enough ease in this dress to get stuck into Christmas Lunch and not have to worry about “loosening your belt” so to speak haha.

Sleeve length is there for those who want arms covered (although you know how I feel about covering up parts of your body you don’t like….. it’s not about that – its about showing off the bits you DO like!… I digress)

This is just a tiny snippet of the gorgeous Summer collection she has on offer. There are so many gorgeous prints and styles to play with! Oh and the price point – SO good for the quality and design of these clothes. They will last, they won’t date, and they’ll be on high rotation in your summer wardrobe for seasons to come.

If lightweight + fun + NZ designed is your thing then you have to give one of her lovely stockists a visit and do some trying on! Let me know how you go!

And make sure you jump over and follow Libertine on Facebook and Instagram – show them a little social love.

Until Next Time, In Love & Style Always,
